The Missed Call Chronicles - Edward's Cell Phone 2

"Please Bella?" I asked my fiancée, Bella Swan. I was trying to make her actually go shopping with Alice. She needed new clothes—all the newborn vampires from before stole half of her wardrobe. I pulled out my secret weapon: my crooked smile. She melted.

"Fine, just don't go anywhere." She made me promise.

"I won't love. I'll just be in here." I looked over at my couch in my bedroom. She kissed my goodbye, and she left. I waited for the sound of Alice's Porsche tires leaving before I left. I decided to go hunting for the day—nothing else to do. I grabbed my raincoat and left.

It was an hour later when I returned. I walked over to the couch and plopped down. I felt a small bump under my leg. I stood up, and found I was sitting on my cell-phone. I forgot it when I left. I picked it up to see that I had messages. This shouldn't be good. I dialed the voicemail and entered my password. I listened for the message.

"Edward, I don't know why I'm telling you this, but I have your hair gel," Emmett's recorded voice told me. I looked over at the mirror by my closet to see it was gone…as was some of Bella's shampoo.

"Listen, Edward. I think I might tell you what I'm planning—its—Rosalie—fire—gel—zzzzzzzz," the message started to break up. I sighed, knowing there would be another from him. I was right.

"Sorry, I had low bars. Anyway, I just noticed…I need you to bring me a hat, and possibly a loaf of bread. Please bring it to the clearing. Thank you." I sighed in irritation. What was he planning?? Next message…

"EDDY!!" I cringed. He just called me…Eddy. That was unforgivable. "Where are you? Ugh, nevermind. I'll go over to Bella's and get the bread from Charlie myself. Bye," my eyes widened. I quickly grabbed a pen and paper; I scrawled down a message for Bella. I didn't know how long I would be gone.

Bella--

Emmett is planning something strange…and I have to go make sure Charlie doesn't give anything to him. I am sure this won't be long. Please don't give anything to Emmett or let him take anything if I'm not there. Sorry I had to disobey your orders. Love you always,

Edward

I jumped in my car and sped as fast as I could to Charlie's house. As soon as I arrived, I parked the Volvo out of Charlie's view. I snuck in through Bella's bedroom window and down the stairs. Charlie was watching a game on the couch. I silently went into the kitchen. Emmett was going through the drawers.

"Emmett! What are you doing?" I whispered.

"Looking for bread. Tell Bella to go grocery shopping…" he declared silently.

"Stop! Leave!" I almost said loud enough for Charlie to hear. We paused and made sure Charlie didn't get up. I heard him rustle in his spot, and then continued watching the game.

"Oh, come on Edward. What's it gonna do to Charlie and Bella if one loaf of bread is gone?" he asked.

"It's not the bread, Emmett. It's the fact that you have been sneaking around stealing people's stuff to make…something."

"Fine. I'll go buy some. See ya!" Emmett ran up the stairs, and I saw him hop out of the window and leave. I was lucky Emmett was easily convinced. I heard Charlie get up off the couch. I started towards the stairs, when he entered the kitchen. I ducked and hid under the table. That sounds a lot worse then it actually is. As soon as Charlie was on the other side of me, I booked it.

I was back at the house, and I found a shiny yellow Porsche waiting in the garage. I parked, and ran up to meet Bella in my room.

"Where have you been?" she asked worriedly.

"Let's just say, I was saving your food stock."

"Okay…" she hugged me and I kissed her head.

"Just please tell me that Emmett didn't actually take anything, right?"

"Not that I know of Bells. Not that I know of."
