Superman's Son
by Chloe Sullivan
Please note that in this story Chloe Sullivan & Lois Lane are not cousins!!
SUPERMAN'S BACK- or at least his son is!
blared the front page of The Daily Planet. 21 year old Catherine Sullivan raised her eyebrows as she sipped her almond latte. She remembered how her mother, Chloe Sullivan, used to talk about Superman, so amazed, but Catherine had never been that interested in him. She thought he was pretty cool but had never actually seen him in person. She looked at the article again.
Superman's son, our new Superman, is scheduled to make a speech on July 22nd, noon, about his public duties. The speech is going to be at Metropolis Park. He encourages you all to go there to hear him.
Catherine pulled out her small pocket calendar and flipped to July 22nd. Nothing.
I suppose it could be interesting, Catherine thought, and I could get a good story for The Inquisitor. She picked up the black pen she had been chewing on and wrote 'Superman conference, Metropolis Park- noon' on the little space in her calendar.
Beep, beep! Catherine's cell phone went off, causing her to jump and flip it open.
"Hello?"
"Catherine, dear, can you come back to the house? There's someone here I want you to meet."
"Sure mom, I'll be there in ten."
"Thanks Catherine!"
Catherine flipped her phone shut, picked up her belongings, and headed out of The Talon café. As she drove home in her red Toyota Tundra, she though about how, well, small Smallville really was. Living on a farm was pretty cool, but all they had were two horses, one for her and one for her mom. Catherine's mother had purchased the farm some years back so that she could stay in Smallville. She thought the place was very homey.
Catherine pulled into the lot of her house and went inside. At the table there sat her blond mother along with another man, around her age, it seemed, who looked exactly like Tom Welling.
"Ah, Catherine! This is Cody Kent… his father used to own this place and we were friends…" Chloe Sullivan turned to Cody.
"And this is my daughter, Catherine Sullivan." Cody raised from the table and smiled at Catherine.
"Pleased to meet you." Catherine said, draining the last of her latte before stuffing it down the trash can. Cody looked down and nodded.
"Cody's going to be staying with us for a while. He just moved to Smallville and has no where to stay." Catherine looked at her mother.
"Oh?" She looked at Cody. "Okay."
"She likes you." Chloe assured Cody as her daughter ran upstairs.
