So, this is what comes of being bored out of one's skull because it's too hot to go outside in the daytime here in Taiwan where I'm attending my cousin's wedding. Hurrah for being a college graduate, means I'm not stuck in school like my brother, but here in sunny (and boiling) Taiwan.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the story. I figure it's about time Olivia got a little love.

Disclaimer: I do not own Law and Order SVU or any of its characters. They all belong to Dick Wolf and NBC. I do however, own Jim, and no he is not for sale.

Playing Cops and Doctors

Chapter 1

Olivia was stretched out comfortably on the couch. One hand snaked out for another handful of caramel corn from the bowl currently perched on her stomach while her gaze remained fixed on the TV. The set was playing one of her personal favorite DVDs, The Lake House. She hated to admit it, but she was a sucker for a good romantic comedy. Maybe it was her lack of a love life, or that Keanu Reeves…if anyone asked though, she like a good ass-kicking action adventure flick.

Suddenly, there was a series of crashes followed by a loud curse and a thud. Olivia, who was in cop mode at the first crash, set aside the bowl and got up to investigate. Opening her apartment door, she found herself looking down at a man sprawled out on his chest, surrounded by the contents of several boxes. Chuckling to herself, she moved around to the man's head and squatted, trying to see if he was alright. The man looked up and Olivia who stared back into a set of pale green eyes. Olivia offered a hand to the man, who accepted and stood up, brushing himself off.

"Sorry about that. I can be a klutz sometimes."

Olivia smiled up at him- they stood nearly eye to chest.

"It's no problem really."

"I'm Jim- and I guess I'm your new next door neighbor." He indicated the apartment door next to hers as he bent to start picking up the stuff he dropped.

"Apparently. " Olivia also bent to help pick things up. "I'm Olivia"

They worked together in silence for a few minutes until Olivia picked up a black stethoscope. Holding it up, she questioned, "Doctor?"

Jim looked up. "Not really."

As they finished dropping things back into boxes, Olivia realized that Jim had been trying to carry four boxes at the same time.

"Maybe next time you shouldn't try to carry so much as once." She grinned.

"That would be a good idea huh? At least this is the last of my stuff. The last thing I need is to fall down the stairs."

Olivia raised an eyebrow. "There is an elevator you know."

"Oh. Right. I knew that. Just felt like a little exercise is all." Jim tried to cover his embarrassment.

Olivia took in his fit muscular form and his messy brown hair. "Uh hmm. Sure." She said, unconvinced.

Jim led the way into his new apartment carrying two boxes. Olivia carried the other two which she had refused to relinquish, saying that she didn't want him falling over again. She stood awkwardly in the living room.

"So, umm…where do I put these?" She asked.

"Just leave them in the bedroom over there" Jim's voice was muffled by the box his head was currently buried in.

Olivia made her way into the bedroom and dropped the boxes on the first available surface, which happened to be a large dresser. Looking around the room, her attention was caught by something hanging on the outside of the closet door. Approaching it, she realized it was a paramedic's uniform. Olivia immediately tried to picture Jim in the uniform and she found that the image suited her just fine. She was just turning to leaving when she heard a woman's voice.

"Hey. Jimbo, your clothes were all wrinkly. I hade re-iron most of it including your uniform. Why on earth must you be so messy?"

So who's the woman? Is there going to be a competition for the hunky Jim? Stay tuned, review, and find out!
