Hey, my second story here. But it's the first Alex Rider story I've written. I hope you like it. Please, please review!
Chapter 1
Alex Rider stared at the clock, willing it forward. It had been one long, boring day of school and he, along with everyone else in the building, wanted it to be over with.
Twenty . . . nineteen . . . eighteen . . . "Alex, please pay attention, won't you?" The English teacher stared at him in annoyance.
Alex pretended to focus on the lecture. Finally the bell rang and everyone picked up their stuff and zoomed out of the classroom before you could even blink.
Alex wandered out onto the sidewalk. It had been almost a year since MI6 had contacted him. Life now seemed . . . almost boring. But nevertheless he was thankful it was over.
As he strolled down the street something caught his eye. There were two men watching him, one was talking into a cell phone. Alex continued walking, pretending he didn't know they were watching him. The men moved forward to follow. So they were following him.
Alex stopped and bent down to tie his shoe. He glanced up and saw the men shift themselves to see what he was doing. Alex waited for a crowd to walk by him until he moved.
When they did he sprang behind a parked car and leaned against it. He looked around for something hard. To his right an old man had a lever in his hand he was using to fix something on his car. The man got frustrated and kicked it and walked away.
Alex looked over the hood of the car and saw the men looking frantically around, trying to find him but they weren't on their way over yet.
Alex army crawled over and grabbed the lever. He went back to the other car and waited. He heard the men's footsteps as they drew nearer. They stopped just ahead of the car. "Where'd he go?" One of them demanded.
"How should I know?" The other one stared irritably around the street. They both had a heavy English accent.
They edged closer toward the car and that's when Alex made his move. He sprang out from behind and slashed the man with the cell phone in the back of the head. He collapsed onto a heap on the concrete.
Then he quickly kicked the other man in the back of the knee and then kicked him hardly in the stomach. The man held his stomach and moaned, giving Alex enough time to run down the street a little further.
But the man soon recovered and was running full-speed, trying to catch up with Alex.
Alex kept running and looked around for a way to lose him. Then an idea flashed into his mind. He reached into his backpack and took out what was left of his chicken sandwich from lunch and ran over toward a wooden fence with a yellow sign saying the words, "Caution, vicious dog" on it.
He climbed over the fence and jumped down, meeting face to face with a bulldog foaming at its mouth. Alex slowly back away and held the sandwich out in front of him.
The dog's eyes followed the food. Then the man had jumped over the fence. Alex threw the sandwich in his face and the dog jumped on him, ripping him up along with the sandwich.
"Bravo." A man said from behind him, he was clapping lightly. "Well, done Alex." The man pulled out a gun pointed at him.
Sorry about the cliff hanger; and I know it's short but I have a lot going on right now. Hint, hint: The more reviews I get the more it makes me wanna update.
