Rei giggled silently as he pushed the boy in front of him playfully yet again, loving the way said boy was trying so hard to ignore him; folding his arms and glaring at whatever happened to be in the way. Realising that the pushing wasn't making enough of an impact, Rei tried a different tactic: he quickened his pace until he was directly behind his target and began treading on the back of his shoes instead, occasionally grabbing hold of the long white scarf that was dangling so temptingly in front of him. The 'target' growled deeply, glancing behind him and rolling his crimson eyes in exasperation at his team mate. Rei inwardly had a party.
The lunacy had all begun when Rei had overheard Kai telling himself not to be 'such a loser', which the younger male had found undeniably amusing to say the least and had spent the rest of the day prancing around in high spirits for no reason other than he thought Kai's mantra was funny. Upon being questioned about his behaviour that evening, he had grinned daftly and told the blue-haired interrogator "don't be such a loser, Kai." to which Kai had turned and left without a word, leaving Rei to chuckle to himself. Kai had obviously been trying and planning to ignore Rei for the rest of the day, but the younger teenager had slightly different ideas, knowing that his team captain wouldn't be able to avoid him forever – especially since they shared a room.
Stood behind a door, watching through the tiny crack between it and the wall, waiting for Kai, Rei was grinning: he had really been enjoying following his team mate around and being purposefully irritating. "Aha…" Rei whispered, narrowing his eyes as he spotted his victim. Kai was looking particularly frustrated that particular minute, so Rei waiting until the boy had just passed his hiding place before leaping out and grabbing hold of the scarf, 'trying' to hide beneath it. Kai stopped in his tracks, turned around and simply stared down at the other, one eyebrow very slightly raised. Now, any normal person would have apologised and given in as defeated, but the neko-jin decided instead to leap forward, grinning, and latch himself onto the elder in a physically uncomfortable hug.
"You're an idiot." Kai stated, trying - and failing - to remove the other boy from around him. Rei smirked into the blunette's shoulder.
"I know." He replied, standing to look Kai in the eye. "And you're a loser." He smiled, pausing "and that's how we like you, so don't go telling yourself not to be one… That's like telling yourself to change everything you are." He laughed at the expression on the other's face.
"That…" Kai muttered something under his breath, seemingly refraining himself from being rude to his friend. Instead, he smiled a little, catching Rei by surprise with a sudden kiss on the cheek, leaving him to blush as he watched his captain continue on his way as if nothing had happened.
"Idiot." Rei mumbled a little too loudly, touching the cheek that Kai had kissed, just as said teenager turned his head to look back. Rei blushed a little more, still taken aback by the sweetness of his team mate.
"Loser." Kai smirked, nodding toward Rei as an insinuation, before carrying on walking away, smirking as he went. 'Loser indeed', he thought, though whether about himself or about Rei, even he didn't know.
