Double drabble with serious Dean/Cas overtones. Pre-slash of the angsty kind, because I can and I will. I'm still working on A Path To Explode In Flames, but NaNo kind of took over my week. Of course my convention took over too, rather drastically in fact because I'm still not quite over hugging Misha and Mark Sheppard.
Disclaimer: If it were mine Dean and Castiel would be at it like hyperactive rabbits, Sam would have been blinded by their activities and Christian Campbell wouldn't have been a demon, he would just be dead.
Your Problems.
"Of course, Dean, your problems always come first."
The words leave his lips without the faintest trace of sarcasm. The last time he puts Dean's needs and wishes first he fell so hard that Heaven was nothing more than a half remembered dream of home. Last time he put Dean's needs first he died. Twice.
Yet Dean is so forceful, such a broken heart within a soul that gleams when Castiel cares to look deep enough, that he cannot help but acquiesce to the hunter's demands. He is pulled in every direction, first by the brothers who cannot understand the truth he has discovered, then by the ones who know that this is a new time for the angels; a fresh start out from under the strict rule of their Father. Finally there is the pull that Dean has on him, that profound bond that should never have been formed that lets him know all the needs and wishes of the man who became his charge. This man that he will do anything within his power for.
Raphael and some of the others call it a terrible weakness. They say that it is a faltering of his grace and his mind.
Castiel knows better, Castiel knows that it is not madness that drives him; it is love and that is altogether something more dangerous.
Hey, look at that, I'm back on the tags band wagon when I'm supposed to be doing NaNo. Nothing new about that though.
