Check! The most perfect boyfriend and to-be fiancé? Double check! Elizabeth (Betty) Cooper stood at the end of her dining table in her beautiful condo in London, beaming and waiting patiently for her guests to arrive. She was a stunning sight, with her golden locks fixed in a perfectly teased bun, flowy pink dress, and dazzlingly expensive diamond earrings. The moon was just beginning to rise and everything was perfect.
Suddenly, her doorbell rang. Betty strode smoothly to the door with a tray of appetizers in her hand. She opened the door carefully and smiled when she saw who it was. Standing right outside was none other than Archie Andrews, her boyfriend who she was pretty much destined to marry. The two of them were together for three years and three glorious ones they were. They met at a party and really hit it off and now here they were.
"Archiekins! You came!" Betty squealed as Archie kissed her lightly on her cheek.
"How could I miss my gorgeous girlfriend's 21 birthday?" Archie asked as he hung his freshly ironed jacket onto a coat rack.
"So, what do you think?" Betty asked, gesturing to the table.
"Lovely babe," Archie answered.
Betty then kissed Archie on the lips. The door then rang again.
"It's open!" Betty called.
The door immediately swung open and Betty's closest friends, Veronica Lodge and Kevin Keller walked in with large gift boxes in their arms.
"Omigosh V! Kev! I haven't seen you two in weeks!" Betty gushed.
"B! So good to see you!" Veronica smiled.
"Where should we leave the presents?" Kevin asked, clearly struggling with his gift.
"Right near the fireplace," Betty replied, putting down her tray of appetizers. Veronica and Kevin quickly walked over to the fireplace.
"So Archiekins, you didn't forget my present did you?" Betty asked, leaning into Archie's arms.
"Well, oh look, appetizers!" Archie suddenly reached over and grabbed an appetizer from the tray.
"Archieeee don't avoid my question-" Betty started but was soon interrupted when the doorbell rang once again.
"I'll get it!" Archie said before rushing to the door.
Betty looked confused but shrugged it off. Maybe his gift was on the way?
Betty's cousin Cheryl suddenly rushed in with a present wrapped in red wrapping paper.
"Cheryl, hi!" Betty welcomed sweetly.
"Happy Birthday cousin Betty!" Cheryl said, placing the gift next to Kevin's.
"I can't believe you made it all the way from Paris!"
"Oh how could I miss my favorite, and only cousin's 21st?" Cheryl gave Betty a hug before sitting herself at the table.
"Gee she seems a lot nicer than the last time we saw her," Kevin muttered.
"Relax Kev, Cheryl is just always mad because she's the only one out of all of us who is still single," Veronica said, rolling her eyes.
"Well, let's let the party begin!" Betty grinned.
