Emily's Nightmare
"Where could Spencer Reid be?" Emily Prentiss thought to herself as she drove to Spencer's last known location. The team was in Tennessee on a case involving the murders of police officers. The Unsub they were looking for was murdering police officers left right and center. It didn't matter if you were in your uniform or in plain clothes; it also didn't matter if you were wearing a badge or not. It also didn't matter if you were the local police, FBI, CIA, ATF, DEA or any police related basically if you carried a gun and a badge you were targeted.
That's what scared the crap out of Emily Prentiss causing her to go white as a sheet. As Emily drove somewhat erratically on and off the road. Her mind was full of thoughts the good and the bad. Every now and again as she drove Emily would glance at the engagement ring on her right hand; it was a beautiful black diamond studded ring that wasn't too big or too small. "It was just right" Emily smiled to herself; she even remembered when Spencer Reid proposed to her.
The team had just finished a case they were helping the California police; with a case involving an Unsub who decided to kill women because he had a hatred for women with black hair. As a result of that Spencer Reid never let his girlfriend Emily Prentiss out of his site. It annoyed Emily silly as her boyfriend Spencer kept an eye on her; but for the remainder of the case Emily went along with it. She just wanted to apiece her boyfriend and it worked much to Spencer's relief and Emily's dismay. But once the case was over and the Unsub was arrested; Emily and Spencer decided to take a walk along a random beach they just happened to stumble upon. Walking barefoot hand in hand enjoying each other company Emily and Spencer had their shoes in their other hand.
Emily noticed how nervous Spencer was; and to her knowledge she never seen her boyfriend so fidgety before. Emily was trying to decide whether or not to say something. Spencer Reid never felt so nervous in his life sure he and Emily had been dating for a while; and the team knew about them and was happy for them. They were especially happy for boy genius because he finally worked up the courage to ask Emily Prentiss out; and when Spencer asked her later that day Emily agreed to go out with Spencer much to his relief and since then they've been inseparable. One of them was never seen without the other and vice verse.
Finally Emily's voice broke through Spencer's thoughts; "Spencer is everything ok?" Finding his voice again Spencer said " yeah Em everything is okay it's just" Spencer started to say but then he stopped himself. That only increased Emily's suspicions even more; she was about to question Spencer even further. When Spencer interrupted Emily with a question of his own. With the waves washing over their feet; Emily watched as Spencer put his shoes and socks on the ground next to him. Spencer spent a few moments looking at the ground gathering his courage before he lost his nerves yet again. "Spence" Emily start to say; she then heard Spencer suck in a long breath before saying "Em you know how much I love you right" Spencer said looking Emily in the eye. Emily thought that Spencer had found somebody else to love and that he was going to dump her. Emily forced herself to listen as she said "Yeah I know how much you love me Spence." "Well then Em can I ask you this" Spencer asked. Emily watched as Spencer went down on one knee reaching into his back pocket and taking out a little black box.
This caused Emily to gasp covering her mouth with her hand as Spencer said the following "Em you are the love of my life. You've always been their for me through thick and thin. Will you marry me?"
"Yes" Emily had replied with tears in her eyes. Then Spencer stood up and placed the ring on her right hand ring finger; then the newly engaged couple shared a somewhat passionate kiss. Then on the way home from the case in California on the jet Emily and Spencer told the team about their engagement; the team couldn't have been happier and they started talk about planning the wedding. But that was a few weeks ago the case in California now they were in Tennessee on a case; and Emily and Spencer manage to get sometime together alone to plan their wedding. But now Spencer wasn't answering her calls or the team's calls; Spencer was suppose to met the team back at the hotel they were staying at. But Spencer had yet to arrive so Emily volunteered to go look for her fiancé; while the others remained at the hotel just incase he might return if not just gather some information on wherever Spencer might be. Emily just knew she couldn't lose Spencer as she subconsciously put one hand on her still flat stomach. Spencer needed to be around for when this little guy or gal decided to come on out after nine months of being in the womb. Emily wanted Spencer to be around when their baby was growing up.
Meanwhile a short while later Emily arrived at Spencer's last know location. As Emily got out of the car she made sure her gun was drawn. Walking up to the front door of a derelict looking house. With her gun drawn Emily pushed open the door and shouted "FBI!" Emily went through the whole downstairs level first before she went to check upstairs. Circling her way back to the kitchen; Emily suddenly heard her foot come into contact with something wet. Looking down she saw that she had stepped into a puddle of blood; Emily took notice that the blood trail was coming from somewhere in the kitchen then pooling in the middle of the corridor. Following the blood trail into the kitchen Emily saw something that she would never forget to her dying day. There lying in the middle of the kitchen floor was Spencer Reid bleeding from a gunshot wound to his stomach; plus he had two wounds on top of his head and to make matters worse for Emily he wasn't moving. "SPENCER!" Emily screamed with tears in her eyes as she ran to his body.
Assessing the damage to Spencer pretty quickly; Emily tried her best to stem the flow of blood coming from Spencer's stomach. Using her jacket Emily applied pressure to the wound with one hand while calling for help with the other; once that was done Emily used her other hand as well to apply pressure to the wound. All Emily could do now was look at Spencer's ghost white face and pray that hope will soon arrive. Now Emily Prentiss soon to be Emily Reid was pacing back and forth of the local Tennessee hospital; a million thoughts good and bad were running through her head as she waited on news of her fiancé Spencer Reid. "Emily!" a voice from behind said bringing Emily out of her thoughts; looking behind her Emily saw JJ coming towards her with the rest of the team following close behind as soon they got word about Spencer they left the hotel and headed straight for the the two women embraced Morgan asked "Is Spencer ok Em?" As Morgan asked his question regarding Spencer's welfare JJ watched as it took her friend a few minutes to answer. JJ didn't know why her friend never told the rest of the team yet; that she was pregnant although he stomach was still flat. JJ knew because Emily herself had told her in person one day at work in the BAU headquarters; Emily had yet to tell Spencer at the time. The night before at home in the Reid- Prentiss household Emily had taken three pregnancy tests just to make sure she was actually pregnant with Spencer's child.
When Emily told her friend JJ the next day JJ was just absolutely overjoyed for her and JJ promised not to tell the rest of the team till she was ready. The team watched as Emily shook her head sadly then went on to tell Hotch, Rossi, JJ and Morgan what happened to their young genius. The remaining BAU agents were shocked and horrified by what condition Spencer was in; but if Emily hadn't arrived when she did Spencer wouldn't be with them right now. After what seemed like hours a doctor comes out and tells Emily that Spencer Reid is in stable condition; Emily then lets out a long breath that she didn't even know she was holding. She then kindly asks the doctor if she see her fiancé Spencer Reid; the doctor consents and leads her to his room the doctor also allows Emily to stay the night for as long she wants much to her relief. While the rest of the BAU team felt rejuvenated in their efforts to find this Unsub and get justice for their friend Spencer Reid.
A few days/ weeks later Spencer Reid awoke squinting because of the bright lights in his hospital room. He could vaguely remembered what happened in the derelict abandoned house; he went alone on a hunch about the Unsub but apparently it didn't work out that way because the Unsub found him first and shot him in the stomach and then tried to bludgeon him to death. But surprisingly enough Spencer Reid survived shocking all the doctors taking care of him. But there was only one thing that Spencer wanted right now more than anything else and that was his fiancée Emily Prentiss. Trying to sit up Spencer cringed as pain soared through his whole body but mainly his abdomen; with one hand on his abdomen and the other hand supporting his weight. Spencer Reid was able to see Emily Prentiss fast asleep in a chair next to his hospital bed. That made him smile Spencer really didn't want to wake her up; but the pain in his abdomen had other ideas. Emily awoke to someone groaning looking over to the side of her; Emily saw Spencer clutching his abdomen in pain.
"SPENCER!" Emily nearly shouted then she quickly added "what do you think you're doing!? You've just been shot in the stomach and you're trying to sit up" as she gently pushed Spencer to lay down again. "Sorry didn't mean to wake you Em" Spencer said while grimacing through pain. Shaking her head Emily smiled down at her fiancé and said "rest up champ you're going to need it when we start planning our wedding." Spencer just chucked softly before he fell asleep with a smile on his face; he was glad to be alive because he had to get back to the woman he loved and had to marry. "Oh and Spencer" Emily started to say getting Spencer's attention before he fell asleep;looking at Emily once again as she said "another reason why you need to rest up and get better is this." Spencer Reid was confused to say the least he absolutely had no idea what his fiancée was talking about; until she put his hand on her stomach. Emily watched as Spencer's eyes widened as he said "You're pregnant Em?!" Emily just nodded her head and then kissed Spencer softly on the lips. Now the newly engaged couple was not only engaged to be married but they were expecting as well.
