Disclaimer: Kanthia doesn't own Tales of Symphonia. She isn't capable of thinking up such awesomeosity.

This is kind of a retelling of how Kanthia and her company felt when said events transpired. It's so strange how she can forgive so many of the game's more major villains but never got over this one.

Early but major spoliers for the Sylvarant Tower of Salvation. This text is bold, which is funky.

I'm so confused right now.

It was a good journey, keeping my attention for most of the time and keeping my mind off things like where I'd live afterwards- maybe Palmacosta, and convince Genis and the Professor to move there with me- and I learned a lot of things about myself and Colette. Like how she had an angel for a father. A goddamn smirking conceited lying bastard who now stands before us, who played with her emotions like the- like the thing he is.

I can see tears in the corners of Sheena's eyes, and the Professor looks scared for the first time. Genis is crouched, his arms around his knees and his knuckles white. I don't even see Kratos. Wasn't he supposed to keep Colette safe?

Safe from-

We traveled so damn far, all over the place. We saw sunrises and sunsets and Desians and humans and dragons and Summon Seals. We met Undine. We saw a Unicorn. We were going to save the world. We were going to save the damn world…

Why did it have to be a lie?

I hate him so much for what he's done to Colette. He's taken everything we risked our lives for and thrown it in our faces, and in a matter of seconds we've lost everything. A minute ago we were about to save the world. Now Colette- I can't look at her, and she's going to die, and the world is ending and this man here is sneering and preparing to kill us-

"Oh, Martel," Raine said, her shoulders shaking, "Why are we fighting Remiel?"
