"Well, I guess this is it."

Troy turned to Gabriella and handed her a bag.

"Here, this is for you. Just some food and stuff for the flight."

He didn't know what else to say. This was the last he would see of her for at least four years, maybe even more. She was going to college in England, He was staying home. After many tears, heartbreaks, tough decisions, and sleepless nights, they decided they had to break up if they wanted to fulfill their dreams. They both knew, not by choice, that they might not ever be together again. It just wouldn't work. So after the decision, he took her to the airplane to see her off to her new life…her new life without him. They weren't crying. They just stood there.

"Thanks, Troy." She said accepting the bag. She didn't look inside it, she just looked at him.

"Listen, Gaby…"

"No, Troy. I wanna say something."" She paused and looked down. "I know this is gonna sound cheesy, but I wanna say…thanks. I mean, you helped me through everything. I don't think I would be here now if you weren't there to help me through it all." Tears started to form in her already red and puffy eyes. "You have no idea what you have shown me, and how much I'm gonna miss you. All throughout high school, you were my best friend. You listened and helped, and I don't know what I'm going to do without you. You mean a lot to me. Life sucks, but we need to go through it and make the best of it. With you, it just made the process of life and everything it held easier and more fun. I know we had our rough spots, but I'm never gonna forget you. I…I just think you should know that."

"I love you, Gabriella."

"I love you, too."

"Promise to call?" He said with a grin even though his eyes were wet.

"Of course."

"Boarding all passengers to London, England" The intercom suddenly said.

"That's you." Troy said straitening up.

"Right, that's me."

They took one more look into each others' eyes.

He stretched out his hand for a handshake, but she put her arms around him in a great, big hug. As they said their final goodbyes, she turned to leave. She spun around one more time before she disappeared around the corner of the entrance of the plane. He watched the plane take off, then left her.

When Gaby got on the plane, she realized she hadn't even had breakfast. She reached in the bag. She found all her favorite candies, and smiled. That was so Troy to do something that sweet for her. At the bottom of the bag, she found something that made her heart smile. It was the program from the Twinkle Town musical. It was ripped, dirty, and old, but it made her giggle at the memories of the great times she had with her best friend, Troy Bolton.
