Hello, if your reading this then you've shown at least some interest in
cooperative writing. Shew! Thank god your reading this, I had a horrifying
mental image that no one would.
Before anything else I think I should explain m reasons for instigating this little indeavor;
Recently while trying to write the second chapter of my story Dimension Hopping with the Mutants of Bayville, a chapter that has so far escaped me, I had a bit of an epiphany.
First question. The trouble with writing this story for me was, "What to do with the extra characters?"
You see I decided to center the stories on the younger members of the X Men, Brotherhood, and Acoltyes. This left me with a very large and extended cast to handle, which I first thought I could use by splitting into three teams.
But then came the second question, "How in the hell would I write all this?"
I have insight into a number of characters, but not all of them, not even close. Then came the second great idea which hit me while I was admiring the wonderful work that Scribbler did with her stories Falling off the World and Lament which were based on the New Mutants. I practically hit the floor when it came to me, "Why not get other writers to use the characters your not using?"
At first this seemed like a radical idea completely devoid of any detracting qualities.
Then after thinking about I came up with the third question, "Why would anyone tie themselves to someone else's work when they can write their own and do whatever they want?"
Answer; give them complete and almost total freedom when it came to writing thier stories. The stories would be completely separate of each other, people could read other stories in tandem or not at all and just enjoy the stories themselves.
Basically the plot of the story in the beginning was that Mesmero created a machine capable of traveling dimensions to free his master Apacolpsyes. The mutant groups show up and all the younger mutants are sucked with him into other dimensions.
The second chapter was suppose to explain how the mutants were collected by the Time Broker and given their mission of hunting down Mesmero and fixing the damage he does. This of course was before my writing difficulties. Just think of the sheer possibilities though, traveling dimensions would allow any number of variations of plot, or should I say "What ifs?"
Now I make a proposition to you, oh so incorrigible reader, one that is subject to negotiation of course if you are so inclined.
Would you be willing to take of this poor, plagued, hands tied writer, characters of your choosing?
In my story the dimension hopping mutants would return after two years, but since time is negotiable anything can happen.
This offer not only extends to those who went on the mission, I would be absolutely thrilled if someone were to write about the New Mutants with the absence of the older X Men.

Cyclops
Jean Grey
Rogue
Iceman
Quicksilver
Avalanche
Pyro
Blob
Toad
Scarlet Witch
Gambit
Colossus
Shadowcat
Nightcrawler
Boom Boom
Forge

For the mutants who are traveling between dimensions I guess there could be 5 to a group with one person getting the odd man.
