you were always alone.

You were wounded and alone.

But I was there,
watching you,
supporting you,
helping you,
lusting for something that would never be mine.

Didn't you see me?

I was just trying to replace a sibling lost -
That is but a shallow lie.
There was more,
but what?

What did I see in you,
apart from cold eyes and dark hair,
a boy with a warrior's skill,
and a heart hidden from my view?

Sometimes,
I wondered
if your heart was as cold as your eyes.

Maybe it was my need to reach the unreachable.
Because you never really cared, did you?

I protected you.
I taught you.
I was there by your side, always.

I was there when you were abandoned.
I was there when he fought you.
