Hey! :D

Did this randomly. Seriously. I've never done such a short oneshot, much else not much of a storyline to support it.

Probably no one would read this, but I hope you like it.

Disclaimer: I don't own D-Grayman... Why? T^T

Oneshot : Did Nothing but Watch

No one knew what was happening. The events seemed to rush in for a split second. The crash inside the building, the sudden massacre, the dead corpses right before them... It was too sudden to take in.

Now they were the only ones left. Mission or not, they had to get it done. It was the only way of surviving, seeing that only two of them had gotten out alive. The man took her arm, dragging her limp body as she stared at the building that was already crumbling to pieces. Her jade eyes were in a trance by the sight. She couldn't cry, couldn't throw a fit, couldn't curl herself up and just rock back and forth pretending it was a dream...

No. She had only watched.

From the beginning all she had done was gawk at the scene and see all of them die. The bodies that were ripped right in front of her eyes, their claws digging into a person's flesh and tearing it back out, gashing their joints and making them fall limp, just to make them feel the agony of the poison that soon dissolved them to ashes... She had seen it all.

And she had done nothing about it.

"Lenalee. We need to run." It was the man, half-kneeling right in front of her. It seemed that he couldn't lug her dead-weight body any longer. He seemed quite exhausted, and the gleaming white cape he wore was filled with dirt and dried blood. The boots he wore were soaked, well basically not water, but red liquid. His black exorcist top were ragged and torn apart while scratches appeared from his skin. His pale hair was covered with ashes from the building earlier, and his breaths had been unsteady since they started escaping.

He was the one who got her out of that mess. In the middle of all the bloodshed, the young man had spotted Lenalee, who was already the only human left in the area. The rest were, as you could say, other beings. Evil, treacherous, Akumas. The only thing left that they could have done that time was flee, and flee they did.

"Why... Why did you save me, Allen?" Lenalee was stuttering, her body trembling with fear and her eyes looked dazed and wild at the same time. She clasped her ankles where the crimson rings were. It felt cold and untouched. Touching her innocence made her feel safer, but it wasn't making her condition any better.

Allen only smiled. The unreadable smile that he would always mask on his face whenever disaster appeared. It was comforting, strong, yet it held sad feelings as well. He held out his right arm, bending forward just to meet her hazy eyes with his indigo ones.

Too late. Monsters began surrounding them, mostly were the color of gray and white, some had been in shapes of canons or mutated animals and few were just like the form of a human's, with a few distortions here and there. Akumas began grouping up to their location. The chances of getting out of this? Quite next to impossible already.

Where was safe when earth itself was already a living hell?

"Live, Lenalee. Then run."

Those were the last words her ears had heard before everything around her blurred in vision.

White. That was all she wanted, and needed to remember. White.

Short, right?

Review if you want. :D Thanks for reading till the end!
