Jennifer Shang is an ordinary muggle girl. Well, at least she was told to believe that. At the age of 13, she receives an acceptance letter to join the second year at Beauxbatons. Slowly, she discovers who she is and the prophecy regarding her. "...She has the ability to bring back the darkness, and she will be the only one able to undo the curse..."

My name is Jennifer. And I'm 13. Which means I should've received my Hogwarts acceptance letter one year ago, if I've got the magical blood in me. My parents are both muggles. I was born in a muggle family, raised like all the other muggle children, went to school etc. But I never felt normal. I always felt different, I could make things, just very small things, happen. It was like magic. But everyone told me magic isn't real. They say it's just coincidence. For some time I believed them, but later it was made obvious that it wasn't just simply a , I did not receive my Hogwarts letter on my 12th birthday. I often wondered if it did arrive, would my parents let me go? They won't believe that magic is real, will they?

But then something changed. On my 13th birthday, a small, light blue envelope, was found on my desk. It didn't have my address, nor the return address. It only had my name, Jennifer Shang, written beautifully on the front. Curious, I opened the envelope slowly, trying hard not to tear it, and took out the papers inside. The writing was written beautifully by a fountain pen. And odd enough, it was written in French. Luckily, I had learnt French for 7 years and I was rather fluent, but of course, no where near bilingual. The letter said

Dearest Future Student,

I'm here to inform you of your acceptance to the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic
"where magic meets magnificence". At Beauxbatons Academy, people of an unimaginable
nature attend to learn more about their gifts. As well as improving our magic, we learn
etiquette, poise and more. Please find enclosed a list of supplies and equipment needed.

Term begins tomorrow and we will get you sorted into your house.

P.S sorry for the lateness of this mail, we normally don't take students from England. However, this is an
exception. You will be joining the second year (I have arranged for the teachers to help
you catch up. You should be able to catch up easily).
Madame Rosetta will help you get your books and uniform today. She will arrive at your house
at 2:30pm to take you to Diagon Alley.
