The fight

I tried to close my emotions and focused only on my common sense and fighting instincts. This was not the time for regret. Even in the damned existence that I had I wanted to survive this night. I focused on the enemy, a group of newborns larger than ours. I quickly analyzed each one of them. Their leader was standing on the rearguard, like ours. They were anxious for the fight but I noticed that they were uncoordinated. Our group wasn't much more coordinate than them, though.

Suddenly, one of them pounced on us and the fight started wildly. All I could hear was the shrieking sound of limbs being torn apart, the growls and pained screams in both sides. All I could sense was rage, fear, thirst and more rage. I knew I shouldn't distract myself with the mixture of emotions that I could feel but tonight was stronger than ever. I couldn't help myself.

Then, someone bit my back. I screamed in pain and turned to face my opponent. I shred him into pieces in one short second and scattered the pieces all over the battlefield. That made me focus harder on the battle. I took down two more newborns before a powerful wave of rage hit me from behind. I was about to fight the raged newborn when another wave of rage hit me, this time coming from my left. I focused on the two newborns, both from the other side. Both of them wanted to kill me and I faced them. I defied them.

In an instant they were fighting against each other. Newborns usually loose control and fight their own mates but I knew that this time I had provoked it. I felt more confident of myself than I had during the last year. I returned to the battle and made our enemies fight against each other. I wasn't quite sure of how I was doing it but it worked. We finished them in a short time and finally their leader surrendered the land to our leader. We had won the battle.
