how can I forget?
that was the last time

'Goodbye, Kenshin'.
She turned and walked away from the man she loved more than life. Kaoru left Kenshin sleeping in their bed and stepped out of their apartment, rain pouring down hard, drenching her in a matter of seconds. A black limousine stopped in front of her and with a last look at the home she had known for 2 years, Kaoru stepped inside the car and drove off into the night.

'Kaoru!'
Amber eyes snapped open as he heard a car door close outside. Within seconds, his sight and hearing adjusted to the darkness, to the silence. People didn't call him Battousai for nothing. Kenshin quickly tossed the covers aside and hurried outside, knowing instinctively that he would not find Kaoru in the house. He caught the tail lights of the car as he went out to the curb wearing his boxers, not caring about the rain.
Kenshin's eyes narrowed and as he ran back to the house, he picked up his mobile phone and dialled a number only he knew.

'Yes?' a voice answered. 'Take your best men and find her, Aoshi. FIND HER!'

He opened the curtains in the living room and watched the rain. His Kaoru loved the rain. A few days ago he found her in the back garden looking at the roses while rain poured over her. He stepped out and hugged Kaoru from behind, locking her in his warm embrace. Together, they let the rain wash over them.

'I will not let you go. I will find you.'
