Hey, it's OG here! No, not Opera Ghost, if that's what you're thinking... I need a new alias... something that's not so obviously fake... Something that's definitely not Otaku Girl, that's for sure! (laughs) So... anyways... my first published story! Gyah! So excited! Hope you guys like it! Happy reading... 3 :D
Disclaimer: If I owned OHSHC... well, let's just say that some crazy things would happen... ;) So yeah. The awesome Bisco Hatori-sensei owns the series, the characters, the basic plotline, the Institute, Japan... (okay, I was kidding about that last one) But seriously, the only people I own are Avalon and my original characters.
Also, if someone could tell me what city/prefecture the Ouran Private Institute is in, it would be greatly appreciated. Virtual cookies! Mwah! 3
Prologue
A teenage girl and a middle-aged man were in the middle of a serious debate somewhere in the heart of New York. Manhattan, to be exact. They were in a large executive office overlooking crowded streets, thousands of people, and precisely five street-vendor stands.
The man was saying, "But miss! You can't do this! Your company needs you. We need you. You can't just disappear off the face of the Earth without a word!"
"I will not be 'disappearing off the face of the Earth', as you call it. Relax, it's only Japan! I promise I'll call you guys every day to prove that I haven't been murdered and brutally dismembered. If I don't, you can send a SWAT team to look for me," the girl replied cheerfully, grinning at the loss of color on her companion's face.
"Avvy, dear, are you sure about this? I know you're still grieving over your father... Perhaps you should think it over a bit more?"
"For the last time, James, don't call me Avvy! I'm not five anymore, you know. Besides, I've thought about it long enough. If you call completely learning Japanese and beginning to pack thinking, that is... But I've made up my mind. I am definitely going. To tell you the truth, I'm tired of New York and its snobby socialites. Being a commoner will be refreshing for a change. At least then people won't make friends with me just for the sake of having a rich acquaintance."
"Very well, if you say so. We'll all miss you, though. And we will hunt you down if you don't call."
The girl just laughed. Together, she and her butler walked towards the elevator and traveled down to her limousine, where her chauffeur was waiting. She felt a spark of excitement travel down her body. This, she could feel, was going to be the start of a one-in-a-lifetime adventure.
A/N: Please review, peeps! There will be praise for those that do. All reviews are welcome. Even flames, though they are not encouraged. Chapter 1 will be posted two or three days from now... Bye bye! :D
