You turned your back on me

We started so happy

The day that you found me

You took me under your wing

And told me everything's gonna be alright

As we traveled and we wandered

We found some more like me, hated and rejected

Soon they became our friends and allies

And everything turned out fine

Year after year things got better

We still wandered and we still traveled

All over this land

We made some friends and we made some foes

All along this sorrowful way

One night I went home to see my family

And the sight I saw chilled me to the bone
