This story was inspired by an icon made by blackeyedgirl on LJ. I tried to include a link to it on here, but it wouldn't let me. The story works without it in any case, just wanted to give creative credit where it was due.

I remake the world for your sake.

Rose Tyler loved her mother. What daughter doesn't? When she was young she idolised Jackie, Jackie doted on her little girl. When Rose was in the throws of puberty, hormones raging, she screamed that she hated her mother. Within an hour they were the best of friends again.

Yet when her mother begged her not to go, she still left.

For you.

Rose Tyler fell in love with her father on the day that she met him – 7 November 1987. He wasn't the man of her childish and wishful fantasies, or her mother's stories. But he was her daddy and she learnt her most important lesson from him.

Your sake.

Rose Tyler loved Jimmy. Well, she thought she did. Loved him enough to lose her virginity to him in the back of his car one Friday night. In the end the sex got pretty good. But that was all it was so she dumped him.

I remake the world.

Rose Tyler loved Mickey. Still does in a way. He was everything Jimmy wasn't. He was dependable, loyal, he adored her. And the sex was pretty good too. When he asked her out she'd been flattered. He'd bought her a single red rose, took her out for pizza, walked her home. Kissed her goodnight on the cheek. It took until their third date before they had a proper kiss, and four months until he made a real move on her. He gave her anything she wanted.

And she'd kissed him goodbye and run off with another man.

The world. Mine. Yours.

Rose Tyler loved Captain Jack. Her hero, her friend. Saved her in the Blitz, stood by her, laughed with her. Fought for her.

Your sake.

Rose Tyler had loved a great deal in her nineteen years. Older than she should have been, even before she'd stepped inside the TARDIS. It was, she reflected, a very full life. She'd told Mickey it was a risk she had to take – her life into her hands.

Her veins were on fire, her head expanding to accommodate her new-found knowledge. She could do anything and she had one aim. The Universe was literally pouring though her and she wanted one thing.

To keep him safe.

You.

Rose Tyler had loved a great deal in her life. She'd never considered dying for it. There was no doubt, no question, she had to save him. Or die trying.

Her Doctor.

Me.

Rose Tyler would never have said that she loved him. Not until she was faced with losing him.

Us.

Time, space, it filled every cell of her. She saw what he saw. For one moment she was the same as him, and to those who can control time, a moment is a heartbeat, a lifetime, an eternity.

The destruction of the Daleks. Jack. Her boys. Even when she felt the power start to push, to strain against her limited physical being, she didn't regret a single decision.

I remake the world for your sake.

Rose Tyler knew the immense capacity humans have for love. Why her mother and Mickey had let her walk away. Why her father ran in front of the car. Why Jack faced the Daleks, knowing how futile it would be.

For those she loved, she laid her life down.

For her Doctor, for love, she broke all the rules.
