Title: After The End
Characters: Kagome X InuYasha
Summary: Kagome knows the best things come in 3's.
Author's Note: When is the last time I wrote InuYasha? Gosh, finally I read the last few chapters of the InuYasha manga.( Go here to read them yourself . ) Here's is my version of the long awaited ending of InuYasha with a bit more emotional detail than the manga but mainly the main just of the final chapter. By the way, does anyone know what happened to Kouga at the end of the manga, I may have skipped those chapters.
After The End
1.
Three days she is smothered in darkness. She keeps her eyes closed. It was the same as having them open only that when she closed her eyes it was easier to ignore the seductive lull of the Shikon no tama begging her to be the one thing she has never been; selfish.
She was never born to be a martyr but this was the first time she believes so wholeheartedly.
The Shikon no tama coo's in her ear, "You want to see him don't you? Merely wish so." And she wants to see him more than she wants to escape the surrounding dark.
"InuYasha...has always come for me. I'm not scared anymore."
She can hear his voice now, gradually coming closer, wait till I'm by your side. And Kagome wants to wish that he was here now, because every moment closer to the end was one she should only spend with him.
She doesn't have to wish long, cause on the third day he has found her.
2.
Three years later after Kagome has made the right wish-Shikon no tama disappear...forever-and has been sealed in her world, she graduates high school. Its a feeling of relief rather than happiness. Who knew she actually graduate high school without being killed or spend an extra year to make up for shard hunting.
After the ceremony she visits the well, because even though she cannot see him who else would she rather spend this event with?
InuYasha...
She ought to have known that after the Shikon no tama was eliminated from the world she would return to where she rightfully belonged. And even though she loved Souta, her mother, her grandfather, this world hardly felt like home.
She really did always get the short end of the stick. All she wanted was to be with him, if only one last time. In his arms Kagome wanted to be with InuYasha for as long as possible, and really she deserved this one little thing. But of course even though it would have been so ridiculously simple this wish was one that would not be granted.
-ache in her heart is so excessive that she is an holocaust of burning flesh and pain.
And then-right before the tears spill over as they usually did-something is different. Her mother hugs her not noticing the change. But she does. Quickly she runs to her house wishing Souta, grandpa, and her mother goodbye. No one asks where she is going as they follow her frantic footsteps from her room to back to the well house. They already knew.
Kagome was born to meet me.
3.
It take 3 seconds for the last pull of magic to catch and send her five hundred years in the past.
It takes three minutes for him to catch her scent and race to the well. As he pulls her out of the well and into his embrace she has found him.
Three days later she is wedded and finally they have found the happiness she has waited for three years, three days, three hours, three minutes, and three seconds after the end.
