My Mother always told me, " Great things take time,"

I had thought she had been right when I met InuYasha. It was love at first site for me, surely he didn't feel the same way. But I stayed strong- I stayed by his side, it would take some time after all.

It was a love hate relationship at first, we loved to hate. We argued over nothing really- He was just childish and I must've been a little too protective. Then Kikyou entered the picture and the fighting became worse and worse. I would call him a Baka atleast 30 times a day- Maybe more.

He seemed to regret that I had been around this long, to witness her return and his undieing love for her.

Then she disapeared- InuYasha seemed heartbroken at first, but his demon instinct kept him from showing emotion. I still felt stupid though, I shouldn't have fallen for him after the first time we met. " Kikyou was much cuter, " He had said; But, Instead of having doubts, after hearing such Kikyou was dead, I let myself fall in love with him- No holds barred.

Everything changed, and it only took afew seconds. I was coming back from my end of the year tests in June. I wondered around in the forest trying to find one of the group. I saw InuYasha and Miroku in a clearing, I stood back because they seemed to be arguing.

" How DARE you?! "

Miroku seethed, his cheeks red with anger. I laughed, thinking InuYasha had done something stupid. But my laughter turned to tears when I heard what they said next. " Your just going to drop her? Just like that?! "

" You heard me, Miroku." InuYasha replied. " I love Kikyou, and always will. After the jewel is reformed, I'll turn human, not for Kagome."

I was in tears by now. " For Kikyou."

I didn't wait to hear the rest, I dropped my knapsack and bolted, tears flowing down my cheeks. I pulled the jewel shards off by the chain around my neck. " Kagome! " I heard Shippou yell, but it was too late to turn back, I had already jumped. When I landed back home, I curled into a corner of the well and cried for what seemed like hours.

Kagome crumpled up the paper, still wet with ink and threw it the study fireplace. She hadn't seen any of the group since, she was now married with two young children and if any of them were to find the paper, questions would be asked.

She put out the fire and closed the door behind herself. She walked across the hall and opened the door to the bedroom of her two daughters.

She kissed them both on the forehead and joined her husband in bed..No questions asked.
