He shouldn't watch her. She's a Weasley, the worst kind of traitor. She's everything he's supposed to hate.

But that doesn't stop him from watching her anyway.

II.

He shouldn't let the words fall from his lips. Giving his desires a voice means admitting that he's not the good Slytherin he tries to be.

But the words come out anyway.

"I fancy you."

Ginny is silent, and Theo knows he ought to turn and laugh like it's some big joke. But the words keep slipping.

"I shouldn't. But I do."

III.

He knows that he shouldn't be kissing her like this. Even more, he knows she shouldn't let him.

But he does, and she does.

And Theo knows he's just a temporary escape. Harry will come back, and it will all fade away.

It shouldn't bother him because he knows how this is supposed to play.

Still, it does.

IV.

It shouldn't hurt. He's known all along what would happen. He's known they would never truly be.

But the ache in his chest refuses to listen to logic.
