There's Always A Reason
AUTHOR: This is a House/Stacy story, but PLEASE REVIEW. I know Stacy might not be back in Jersey, but yeah. XD
-----
"I heard Stacey was coming back to live in Jersey." James Wilson said with a grin. He was standing in front of Gregory House in the middle of the hallway. It was in the early afternoon, and House and Wilson were just coming back from lunch. Wilson's arms were crossed as he waited for a response from House.
"So?" House said, looking at Wilson with an emotionless face.
"I invited her over to dinner to catch up. I also heard she was going to visit you here." Wilson said, his grin becoming a bit bigger.
That took a moment to register with House, then reality sunk in. He was going to see Stacy again. But did Wilson only invite Stacy to dinner to catch up?
"Well, ever since Stacy left, the pain in your leg has been getting worse. You miss Stacy House, admit it." Wilson said, starting a new conversation.
House then smacked Wilson's leg at the knee. He immediately bent down to hold his knee. "Ouch! What the hell?" Wilson said, rubbing his knee.
"Aww, do you miss Stacy too?" House said, with a small frown. With that, he hobbled off.
The day ended pretty eventfully. House managed to do some clinic duty, after Cuddy told him to, and he had finished a pretty difficult case.
-----
House's office door closed and Stacy looked up from where she was sitting at the differential table. "You're here early. Why?" Stacy said, now standing.
"Because I felt like it today. The big question is, why are you here?" House asked, hobbling over to Stacy.
"Because I felt like it." Stacy said, speaking the same way House had.
House rolled his eyes at Stacy's remark and went on speaking. "How's Mark?"
"Fine." Stacy replied simply. She crossed her hands over her chest, a slight grin on her face. "How's the leg?" She said, motioning to his leg.
"It's ok." House said. "It has its days." House shrugged.
"Well that's good." Stacy replied, now smiling instead of grinning.
"You're happy with Mark, so why are you here?" House said, still having no emotion on his face.
"Can't I visit a friend?" Stacy said, smile fading a bit. House nodded, staying silent for a bit.
"Is that the only reason you have?" House asked.
"Do I need a reason?" Stacy asked. The question remained unanswered.
"Well, I heard you were going to dinner with Wilson." House said, looking at Stacy.
"I canceled." Stacy said, crossing her arms over her chest and looking into House's eyes.
"Why?" House asked.
"No reason." Stacy said, shrugging.
"Is it because you are with Mark?" House asked, watching as Stacy shook her head. "Because you still have feelings for me?" Stacy shrugged. "We'll just have to see for ourselves."
House leaned over and kissed Stacy, who deepened the kiss.
After they broke free, House grinned. "By the way, there's always a reason." He said.
