"Serena, I think I've found your daughter" those words stopped Serena's heart.
"What makes you think that?" Serena asked Catty carefully, afraid to get her hopes up and then it be a false lead.
"You know how we all decided to go to the places we originally hid the children to find them?"
"Yes," said Serena trying not to think about all the pain and horror she had felt when she and Stanton had went to the Isle on which they had left their baby and found her not then. The sense of horror had deepened when she discovered why her little girl was no longer there.
Catty looked at her friend sorrowfully, in a way she still felt guilty; she had been part of the reason the children had been hidden in the first place. Serena automatically reached out to hug her. If Serena held it against her she never said anything. That's why Catty was so overjoyed about finding her friend's daughter.
Catty spoke in a rush "We found Lei in Bright Morning Ga. She has a best friend with telepathic powers and the ability to turn to shadow. This friend also has the garnet washed purple stone amulet Lorinna was born with."
Serena sat down hard on the bench. "What do you know about her?"
Catty sat beside her. "She's a sorceress, but a good one. She and Lei are both training to be able to heal. She loves music, she sings, plays more than one instrument, and dances ballet. She and Lei both write poetry and they have both been published. I gather Lorinna or Jasmine as she is now called is afraid of her own power. At least that is the impression I was given by Lei."
Serena took all of that in. Then she caught a thought in the air, she looked at Catty "at is Lei called?"
Catty grinned at her "Lei was renamed Christina but she goes by Chris"
Maybe Serena was just tense or maybe it was actually that funny, but that piece of information caused her to erupt in a fit of giggles. Catty joined her quickly and this is how Stanton found them. Breathless and Helpless with laughter.
