Hmm, I was in a Bella and Edward fluff mood. Don't you just love fluff...?

Five year old Edward Cullen loved music. He loved to watch his older sister Rosalie play the huge piano in their living room. He loved to listen to all of the CDs that his mother and father had sitting on the entertainment center. He couldn't wait to take piano lessons when he was six. Music, to him, was everything.

On his first day of Kindergarten in the fall, school also became a big part of his life. Edward had always been a very bright boy; he could already read and write his name, and the names of all his family members. But his favorite teacher was Ms. Finny, the music teacher.

One day in mid March Edward sat eating his snack by the playground, looking at nothing in particular. Then his eyes found a lone figure, far away from everyone else. Being five he had quite the curiosity, so he went over to investigate.

There, sitting on the thick concrete steps of the school, sat a girl. She had long brown hair and was very pretty, except she had tears in her big brown eyes. She tried to shield her face behind her hair when she saw Edward walking over.

Being the little gentleman that he was, Edward asked quietly, "Are you okay?"

The girl sniffled.

"I'm Edward," he continued, sitting down next to her, "What's your name?"

After another sniffle the girl replied, "My name is Bella."

Edward nodded, he liked the name Bella. When his baby sister Alice was born his mommy and daddy had thought about naming her Bella, but they changed their minds saying that the baby was much more of an Alice. Even though she didn't have the name he wanted her to, Edward loved her just the same.

After a few minutes of silence broken only by Bella's sniffles Edward asked, "Why are you crying?"

Bella looked at Edward and said, "I'm new. My mommy and daddy got a divorce and Daddy wanted to move back to his hometown. Mommy wanted to travel all around the world. She wanted to take me with her, but Daddy said I had to go to school and have a stable life. That's why I'm here. I wish I was back in Arizona. It's too cold and wet here."

Edward had always thought that mommies and daddies who got divorced waited a good long time, and then asked their almost grown up kids who they wanted to live with. He didn't think that something so sad could ever happen to a nice girl like Bella.

"Plus," Bella said, drying her tears, "I don't have any friends here."

"Yes you do," Edward said, "You have me!"

Bella looked up in surprise, "Really?" she asked.

"Really," Edward said smiling.

As the two walked together towards the cafeteria as the lunch bell rang, Edward said, "Just wait till you meet the music teacher! We're trying out for the spring concert today!"

"I don't like singing in front of people," Bella said, "I get stage fright."

Edward looked into her fear filled eyes.

He smiled, taking her hand, "Don't you worry. You'll do awesome!"

"Thanks Edward," Bella said, pulling him into a hug.

Edward smiled, he could tell they were going to be friends for life.

So, tell me what you think. Good, bad, worse? I'm thinking about making it a mini series. You know, focus in on important times during their lives... Should I try it? I'll never know if you don't REVIEW!!!
