I was watching the seventh episode of Heroes, where Niki's kid gets taken away from her by D.L., and I really felt for her, so I wrote this. Let it open your eyes.
"NO!" she screamed, trying to get past the officer that was holding her back.
"No, please, Micah, please, don; take him!' she sobbed, desperately trying to get to her son.
"I'm sorry, miss, but Child Support has deemed you detrimental to your son."said the social worker.
"Momma! Momma! I don't wanna go with them! Momma please!" cried her son, Micah.
"No, you can't take him, please, I'll try harder, please don't do this to me, don't do this to him, please," she kept crying and struggling.
"I'm sorry, miss, but Child Support has deemed you detrimental to your son." Niki stopped sobbing and stared at the social worker.
"You just said that," Niki said, immediately suspicious.
"I'm sorry, miss, but Child Support has deemed you detrimental to your son."
Now the police were staring at the social worker, and the most senior officer there motioned for the officer holding Niki back to let her go. Then the social worker got angry.
"I'm sorry, miss, but Child Support has deemed you detrimental to your son." She said in a low and threatening voice, but the officers restrained her, and the social worker screamed, a unearthly sound like a train wreck, but the officers already had earplugs in, and were unaffected.
"Micah! Micah, come here!" Niki said, and the little boy jumped into her arms, screaming "Momma! Momma, why? Why were you going to let them?"
"Micah, I didn't want them to, I love you, sweetie, but the social worker had the officers on her side."
"Then why are they handcuffing her now?" he asked, puzzled.
She took a deep breath. "Because a lady impersonating a social worker has been stealing kids away from their homes, and that phrase is the only phrase of English she knows," she said in a rush.
Micah hugged his mom, then turned to the officers. "Thank you," he said- simple, 4-year-old speech.
That episode made me cry, when she woke up and Micah was gone. I wouldn't have been able to bear it- I would have killed myself, or only been alive to see my child again. So I gave her a mini-story that made me feel better. Gotta go finish watching that episode- I'm good now.
