To the woman who raised me,

You were the one. You were the one who held me as a baby, always making sure I was fed and clean. You were the one who picked me up and kissed my cuts and scrapes as a little kid. You were the one who sent me off to school on my first day of kindergarten. And you were the one who met me at the bus stop after, when I was in tears from missing you all day. You helped me with my homework and welcomed all my friends. You encouraged me through everything I did. And you comforted me when something went wrong. You taught me to work hard but also to hope and to dream. You helped me get ready for my first dance. You gave me advice on girls or school or anything else. You got mad when I stole cookies as a kid. You told me I needed to do better when I snuck out at night and got detention. But you were the one who helped me through the hardest parts of my life. You were the one who gave me endless love and care, no matter what I did. I just have to say thank you. For everything you've ever done. I couldn't ask for a better mother.

Love,

Peter
