An Everyday Life with Monster Girls fanfic

Papi loved to fly. It was in her nature, an instinctive joy for the young woman. To feel the wind beneath her wings and watch the world below fall away far below stirred something primal deep inside her.
It was an awesome experience. In her own limbs she held the power to lift herself up, slip free of gravity's tyrannical bond at any time she wished. If the whim struck her, she could take off, rise up into the air, swoop and wheel through the sky.
It was exhilarating.
Freedom.
Harpies did not understand bondage. Restraint was beneath their comprehension. They were as much birds as they were humans, and both parts reveled in the visceral liberation of flight.
It was something humans could never understand, she supposed. For all their airplanes and helicopters and whirlybird whatnots, humans still couldn't truly fly. Not in the way harpies used the word.
For humans, flight was a thing of constriction, binding oneself inside a cramped metal compartment with dozens of others. It was hectic and stressful – taxing, dull, and complicated. They traveled through the air, yet they were bogged down by hundreds of meaningless little rules and regulations.
Flight was scarcely a wonder to them anymore. It did not fill them with awe or delight. It had become so bureaucratic, so bogged down in mundane details and legal mumbo-jumbo, that flight no longer held the magic it once did.
Because of this, Papi felt sorry for humans, and for everyone else who couldn't truly fly. They had lost sight of the magic, the wonder, the awe of flight.
But Papi remembered it. She felt it every day, every time she took wing and flew, defying the earth below and soaring freely, gleefully through the sky.
It was a primal jubilation, a sense of delight which thrilled her down to the very bone. Even as a fully grown adult, Papi still felt that giddy rush of tingling warmth through her body every time she took flight. She still felt so proud, so happy, every time.
Flight was something precious to her, something she held as dearly as life itself.
It was freedom. It was joy, excitement, adrenaline pumping and heart racing fasterfasterfaster as she swooped and wheeled through the air, laughing, singing, breathing, and living.
Flight was a harpy's greatest joy. It was their pride, their privilege, their identity.
Only two things that made Papi happier than flying.
One of them was Suu.
And the other...
...well, she hoped to show him, one day, just why flight was so precious to her. To show Boss the world far below them, the people as small and insignificant specks, the endless blue sky all theirs alone, the vast expanse of heaven theirs to freely travel as they wished.
Some people stereotyped birds as unintelligent.
In truth, they were some of the cleverest creatures alive.
Papi just didn't care about unimportant little details.
A/N: Papi is one of my favorite characters from Kimihito's harem. Hehe, this is probably why I've written two different one shots with/about her. ;D
