Blurry Vision

Franklin and Marcie were playing outside together, smiling as they enjoyed the sunshine beam down on them, lighting up their moods. Franklin ran straight to the playground, with Marcie following him; until she ran straight into a tree.

Franklin looked around frantically, wondering where Marcie was. He soon saw his friend, Eliza: a nine-year-old girl with braided, brown hair; rosy red cheeks; emerald green eyes; a fair smile and a nice little birthmark that ran across half her face. "Hi Eliza!" Franklin called out, before seeing Eliza smile and wave back.

Marcie was trying to find her glasses, as they had fallen off as she crashed into the tree. "Looking for something, four-eyes?" a menacing voice asked sarcastically as she laughed at Marcie's failed attempts to find her spectacles. Little did Violet know that PigPen was hiding behind a bush, listening to every insult Violet told Marcie, or every kick or cut the older girl'd give the younger one. "I have to stand up to Violet." PigPen told himself before charging out of the leafy bush to confront Viola Madelyn Grey.

Eliza looked at Franklin before asking, "Where's your four-eyed friend, Marie?" Franklin rolled his amber eyes as he and Eliza went to find the bespectacled girl.

"STOP THAT, VIOLET!" a voice from behind her screamed! "PigPen?" Violet and Marcie asked in unison before the boy continued, "VIOLET, IF YOU BULLY ANYONE ELSE, EAT MY DIRT!" he explained, causing the ten-year-old to run away in horror, before he helped Marcie back on her feet and handing her her glasses. "Thanks, PigPen." The shy girl replied happily, as she kissed him on the cheek, causing the walking dust magnet to blush a little.

Franklin and Eliza soon found Marcie and PigPen, who waved at them as Franklin examined the little cuts, bruises and scrapes on his shy friend's arms and legs. "Who did this to her?" Eliza asked immediately. "Violet did." PigPen explained. "And if it weren't for PigPen, who knows what other damage Violet could've done to me." The bespectacled girl replied as she held Franklin's hand. "Thanks PigPen, ol' buddy." Franklin said as he invited the messy boy to the playground with them.

"I'd be delighted to join you." PigPen proudly proclaimed as he walked off with his three new friends.
