Renamon's Thoughts
By: Juria
Notes: I own nothing! Also, this story is kinda dark, but it just came to me. After seeing some rather disturbing pics of Rika from Digimon, this popped into my head. Yeah, it's dark.
I watch her, from afar, hiding in the shadows, waiting for her to call out my name. After the fight we had this morning, I watch her squirm in this man's arms as he lays her across his lap. I can't help but feel she has this coming, however, after the first slap of his hand across her hide, she screams out my name, and that thought is thrown to the back of my head.
I land silently behind this stranger, who has taken it upon himself to punish an innocent girl, simply because he thinks she's been a brat for far too long. I let him struggle in my grasp, giving him a taste of his own medicine, before giving his neck a sudden jerk, twisting it completely around. Sometimes, I fear my own strength.
I turn to my tamer, who has regained her clothes, sobbing, sniffling, and I stretch out my arms to her. As she falls into my embrace, I can't help but feel a sense of love, love that goes beyond a simple call of duty. I swore I would give my life to protect her, and I meant it.
I watch as she stares down at the man's broken body, and then gives me a concerned glance, like a confused child. "Renamon, what now?" she asks, her lavender eyes gazing up at me. I sigh, and then instruct her to run home. She does, myself being two steps ahead of her.
Once we arrive, the police are called, and while I normally remain hidden in the shadows, I am, instead, called by her once more, and, like a mother to her child, I respond, appearing before the officers to help them recover the beaten corpse.
I watch as one of the officers starts to draw his gun, but the elder of the two quickly commands him to holster it. After taking them to the body, and answering many questions, I return to her side, watching as her grandmother comforts her, then listening as her own mother, drunk again, walks in. As my charge heads off to bed, I listen to the conversation between mother and daughter, all the while something telling me to rip into Rumiko like a demon from hell. But it will pass, as it always does.
Someday, I pray that my charge and her mother can reconcile, but until that day comes, I will be here, watching over her, caring for her, protecting her. She is my little girl, and no one will ever harm her.
The End.
