Summary: The Easter story was a miracle. Why couldn't it happen once more?

He stared up at the crucifix hanging above the alter of the Church. The Easter story, the story of a miracle ressurrection. Couldn't it happen once more? Why was Aerith any different? Was it because her death wasn't a sacrifice but just cold-blooded murder?
The rain was pouring in from the hole in the roof, causing his spikes to sag and droplets to roll into his eyes. Tifa was more than likely waiting up for him with Marlene but he just couldn't leave yet. He had to wait, just in case. He would never forgive himself if she returned and he wasn't here to greet her.
All through the night, he waited. Wouldn't the Planet ressurrect the last of it's people? As the first rays of sunlight began to peek through the windows, his heart sank. She wasn't coming back. Not now, not ever.
It was just a story. And stories aren't always true.
