My first bollywood fanfic! Glad I found this section :) So this is a Lakshya fanfic and it is probably my worst writing ever...if it really really sucks and everyone hates it I'll take it down. But yeah, please R&R! Thanks to BlindingPinkObsession for her awesome beta-ing skills.

Ek Naya Lakshya: A New Goal

Kahan tha woh? Where was he? He should have left the hospital by now. They had said that his injuries weren't too bad. What if there had been a complication? What if he wasn't okay? No, she had to stop thinking like that. Karan would be fine, no not would be, his was fine. He'd come out and see her in just a couple moments. Romi fidgeted restlessly while leaning against her car.

The moment that she had found out that he was in the hospital she had run to her car and had driven like crazy. There was no way he could be hurt! She prayed nonstop in those minutes of fear. She breathed again for the first time when his parents told her that he would be okay; that his injuries were minimal. Her Karan was all right. He was away from the warfront- out of the path of harm.

Her world had flipped upside down the moment that she had turned away from him those years ago. She had said such unfair and harsh words to him. It wasn't as though she had really meant any of it. She loved him. Maybe it was just her obstinacy. If she could have gone back in time and undone it, she would have in a heartbeat. She had hurt him when he needed her the most. But that was over now. He had forgiven her when he told her that he might not come back. He was back though. It was okay.

Romi looked over at the door into the hospital. She wanted him to come out so she could run into his arms. But she was waiting at a distance. His parents stood over by the door. They should meet him first. She started at the door as though she could will him out if she stared hard enough.

The door opened, startling her out of her reverie. Her heart swelled with joy as she looked up him. He looked so different in the dark pants and button up green shirt compared to the faded jeans that he used to wear. His short hair revealed scars on the side of his face. His arm was bandaged but besides that he looked fine. She could not help but notice that his walk was so different. He held himself differently somehow. Maybe it was that it wasn't an aimless walk now; uske pas ek lakshya tha, he had a goal. Whatever it the difference was, she liked it.

He turned and looked towards her. Romi smiled. Finally. It took all her willpower to not run and jump into his arms. Karan stopped in front of her.

"Hi."

"Hi."

She couldn't think of anything so say except for one thing…I love you.

But when she opened her mouth something completely different came out.

"So, you've achieved your lakshya…"

"Yeah."

"What now?" she asked quietly, hoping she knew his answer to the question.

"I have a different lakshya now…You," he replied smiling.

Romi smiled widely and finally giving in, wrapped her arms around Karan.

He was back and he was safe. She pressed herself against him and grinned. They were together again. It would always be like this and should always be like this. She pulled back and looked up at him. His green eyes glittered and he leaned down and pressed his lips softly to hers. It was their first kiss in years. Romi felt a trickling warmth start at her mouth and spread to the tips of her toes. She wished it could have lasted forever but Karan pulled away and put a hand to her face.

"I love you."

"I love you too," Romi replied, eyes sparkling.

Karan was back in her life. Her upside down world was right side up again. Everything was as it should be.
