Windows wide,
Curtains drawn.
Black and white,
Covered over.
Exposed to him,
Exposed to her -
They attract, opposite ends of the magnet.
Only the nights can bring them together –
Holding on for dear life;
Clutching at their last hopes
Bound together to heal the scar that splits their souls,
An ache that can only fade, never to truly leave.
But she pulls away, shying, retreating –
'You prevented her only chance at life',
That's what she whispered from beneath the sheets
His back turned, the tears ran clear down his cheeks.
But wise words, manipulation, deceit turned to comfort –
And a jagged scar can meld together.
