"Sandra stop, you're going to make it worse." Gerry told her much to her annoyance.

"I got glass taken from my hand not my leg amputated." Sandra moaned, the pain killers now wearing off and making her grumpy.

"Either way we don't want it getting worse or infected." Came the voice of reason yet again from Gerry.

"Gerry I broke a wine glass and got a chunk stuck in my hand, I only went to hospital to shut you up so now that I've kept my part of the bargain, you keep yours!" Sandra moaned as she stood up and went in search of a new wine glass.

"Sandra if you're going to have another one then let me get it. Go and sit down and I'll get it, then you won't get anymore hurt and I'll shut up."

"Gerry I love you and everything but leave me alone. It is just a little cut, it's not going to kill me so stop acting like it could."

"A little cut? There's 6 stitches in your hand!"

"That's irrelevant, it's a minor injury that barely even warrants the name of an injury so stop going all worried partner on me and shut up."

"Sandra stop!" It was the first time she'd ever heard him shout and if she was honest the suddenness to his loss of temper scared her, but it had the desired effect because she had now stopped. "Just accept that I care, you aren't taking this seriously enough. I don't want you injured and now that you are I don't want you making it worse. You can't be like this, just accept the help and calm down." Gerry continued to shout.

"I think it's you that needs to calm down Gerry." Sandra said still in shock and it was showing.

"I'm sorry baby, I didn't mean to shout it's just I wish you'd accept more help, you just need to accept it. Help doesn't make you weak, it makes you human."
