Alrighty, so I thought that this could stand as a standalone one shot, yet fits into the 'Little Miracle' world. It could have been included in the actual story... But I wanted to explore it a little more and develop it. If I had of left it in the actual story, it would have been too long and drawn out. Hope you followed that!

"January 26th."
The statement made Rachel Rafter turn around quickly.
"Australia Day?" she half asked. "Really?"
"Well, why not?" Jake asked. "Everyone's together to eat and drink on it anyway. Why not just make it a bigger celebration?"
Jake and Rachel were talking weddings. Yes, big, white weddings. And what is the best place to start, after a proposal is accepted of course? The date.
"You're serious?" Rachel checked, stopping what she was doing and putting down the book she had just taken out of the packing box.
"I'm deadly serious," Jake said, his voice unwavering. "Alright, what do we do on most Australia Day's?"
"Get drunk and have a barbeque," Rachel said honestly. "Well, sort of."
"Exactly. It's our way of celebrating an important day to be Australian," Jake put down the frame he had unpacked and walked over to Rachel. "It's the day we remember why we are so lucky, and when we are proud to be in Aus!"
"Wow, preacher," Rachel was nodding teasingly. "It gives us time, I suppose."
"Exactly. A year," Jake was nodding. "That's enough isn't it?" Rachel nodded.
"Well, yeah. We're so busy right now, with moving and a new baby," said Rachel, listing things off in her head. "It gives things time to settle down."
"And for things to be more of a routine," added Jake.
"And we do always celebrate it anyway," smiled Rachel. "We'd just be giving it more reason to celebrate."
"Exactly," Jake responded, reaching to pick up her hands. "Look, no pressure. But what do you think?"
Rachel contemplated the thoughts for a moment, before smiling and looking up at her fiancée. She took a small step closer to him, placing her left hand on his check. The diamonds on her white gold engagement ring caught the light as she did so.
"I think it would be perfect."
Hope you enjoyed. I just felt it fitted better as a separate piece, despite how short it is.
I hope you all had a terrific Australia Day. Would love a review!
