They had been having wine together one night and Serena was tipsy, not drunk, but the level of drunkenness that makes a person open up and just start talking. Fleur asked about Bernie and Serena started to talk.
'I just love her, I never expected it. It came out of nowhere and hit me in the face. She's everything I want. I just love her. She's it, she makes me feel loved and safe. I miss how she holds me around the waist and looks at me so intently. I miss looking at those eyes, her face when she's not paying attention. I miss that cheeky, flirty smile she has when she's making fun of me and her cheekbones, don't get me started. I miss stroking her hair, running it through my fingers. I even miss that look on her face when something has startled her, she reminds me of Bambie. She's the one, for me she's the one. She is so supportive and loving, but in a quiet, gentle way, I can always feel her presence. Quietly there, holding my hand whilst I did what I needed to do.'
She sighed. 'I just love her is all'
She had the nine yard stare and in that moment Fleur knew that Serena was taken and Bernie was a lucky, lucky woman.
