A GOOD DAY AT WORK
17 year old Maddie Fitzpatrick was a having a good day at work. Business at her candy counter had been busy enough to keep her from getting bored but not so busy to make it hectic. London was off on a trip with her stepmother for a whole week so Maddie didn't have to spend her time listening to how great the heiress's life was. Zack and Cody were still at school engaged in their afterschool activities, basketball and math team respectively, so Moseby wasn't screaming at anyone making the lobby busy yet peaceful. Plus since he wasn't there, Zack wasn't bothering her with trying to get a date that just wasn't going to happen. To top it off a very cute boy was fliriting with her across the lobby.
It had started innocently enough. The boy was looking around the hotel, bored out of his mind, while his father got a room. Maddie had been reading a book. Their eyes met and the boy gave Maddie a smile that made her melt. She offered him one in return and was pleased to see that it had a similar effect on him. For the next few minutes, they settled into a game of exchanging glances and looking away quickly, almost as if they were playing "peek-a-boo". They were behaving like children, and they were both loving it. The father thanked Moseby and turned to his son.
"So, what should we get for supper, buddy." he said bending down to pick the two year old up. The boy pointed across the lobby to the candy counter. The father chuckled.
"Candy!" he said in mock astonishment. "You want candy!" as they approached he noticed where the boys attention was and it wasn't on the content of the counter's shelves.
"Ohhhh, so you just want to flirt with the pretty girl behind the counter, huh?" he said kissing his son on the cheek. The boy giggled and Maddie found herself giggling in response.
Maddie Fitzpatrick was having a very good day at work indeed.
