Chapter 1

Death is only the beginning

( Skarlet's point of view)

~~~ Flashback~~~
Bodies laying on the ground covered in blood, the sky filled with the tainted smell of burning flesh. I laid on the ground helplessly, seeing everyone I knew that was dead. I couldn't believe that this was happening, and no one could stop it.
Struggling to get up of the ground, grabbing my swords and stuck them back into the sheaths I had on my back. After I did that, I reached for my sais that lay on the ground next to me, and I felt someone standing behind me.
"You and your pathetic friends couldn't defeat me! And now their souls belong with me!" Jason said as he grabbed me by the neck and started choking me.
"You may have won the battle... but you haven't won the war." I said hoarsly as my breathing started getting difficult.
"Any last words?!" Jason said before he choked the life out of me.
I flipped one of my sais up, holding it to where the blade faced out towards Jason.
"Yeah I do. That's for my friends!" I exclaimed as I stapped him in the arm to make him let go of me.
"You're gonna regret that Skarlet." Jason said as he grabbed a samari sword.
He swung it at me and he had missed, then he had backed up. This was the final battle, me against the big bad boss. We backed away from each other and readied our weapons. He spun and flipped his sword around every which way until he found a way he wanted to hold it.
I was holding my sais to where the blade was against my arms, then I flicked them out real fast, spinning them around and catching them by the handles in both hands.
"Ready to die mortal?" Jason asked as he came at me with his sword.
"Are you ready to lose?" I answered his question with a question.
Jason swung his sword and I had blocked his attack, catching his sword in one of the prongs on my sai. I had caught it in my left sai that was in my left hand and twisted my wrist to lock the blade in place. Then I took the sai in my right hand, holding it with the blade against my arm, taking the prong and caught the other part of the sword in that.
Stepping closer to Jason, I disarmed him from his sword, and last but not least I beat the every loving crap out of him.
He just stood there, wobbeling in place like he was dizzy. A voice said to finish him, and that is what I was going to do. I sheathed my sais on my waist, then pulling out my swords I had in an x on my back. I took the sword in my left hand and stabbed Jason in the right side of his neck, then I took my other sword as my other hand was still on the one sticking out of his neck. Taking the sword in my right hand and slashed his throat. Blood spewed from his neck as he choked, sticking my face in his blood that sprayed out. My whole entire face was covered with Jasons' blood.
Taking my swords back and resheathed them, I stood facing the front and had my hands together, then I stood with one of my hands out holding a sword and the other next to my side.
"That was for me! Death is only the beginning." I said not even having to look over my shoulder.
~~~ End of flashback~~~

( End of point of view)

"Fatality!" The deep voice in the video game exclaimed.

Skarlet was facing forward, then an achievement flashed next to her. The video game was over. James had kicked his friends butt.

"No fair! You used a fatality!" Carlos whined as he threw the controller down on the couch.

"It's called knowing how to play." James responded as he laughed in victory and got up to stretch his legs.

"I want a rematch!" Carlos demanded as he crossed his arms after he put on his hockey helmet.

"Why? So you can get your butt kicked again?" James asked as he sat back down on the couch, taking a drink from his soda.

"This time, I'm gonna kick your butt James." Carlos said with confidence, grabbing the controller from the couch, sat down and waited for James to start the game.
