This is my first story on here. I hope it's alright even though it's kind of short.

This was serious. All his life, he had known when he liked a girl, because he would dream of her. But he had never dreamed about the same girl four times. Sure there was that girl in twelfth grade. He had really liked her, but in the end it didn\rquote t work out. She was the only one he had ever dreamed about more then once. That was until now.\par \par \tab He couldn\rquote t figure out what was so different about her. She wasn\rquote t even his type. He wasn\rquote t even sure he knew what his type was, but he was fairly certain she didn\rquote t fit it. Sure she was attractive. He\rquote d have had to be blind not to notice. Heck any man would\rquote ve had to be blind not to notice. Aside form that, she was smart. Probably way smarter than him in many ways. He also knew that he was smarter than her in some ways. Perhaps, that was why they worked so well together. Now they do anyway.\par \par \tab It didn\rquote t start out like that. They\rquote re both head strong and as stubborn as they come. They both had their own way of doing things. He wasn\rquote t sure how, but they had managed to figure out a way to work together despite their different positions and backgrounds. So they worked well together, that doesn\rquote t mean you end up having\'85 having what. He wasn\rquote t sure it was a crush, an attraction, or something else. Well, whatever it was, it must be something borderline serious.\par \par \tab How did that happen he wondered. He thought back to when he first got assigned this post. They had definitely had conflicting opinions then. Somewhere through the course of time, they had learned to draw on each others strengths and to respect each others positions. They also knew that they had to be able to work together, since they are both in positions of command. Luckily they had managed to find a way to do this with out stepping on each others toes. Well, not as often at any rate.\par \par \tab He still couldn\rquote t figure it out. He had been thinking about it for days now, but somehow his thoughts always turned to her making him smile. This was weird, especially when those under his command wondered what was going on with him. None of them ever said anything directly to him, but word travels fast in small spaces and they were definitely wondering what was up with him.\par \par \tab All these thoughts crossed through his mind while he stood watching her in her office. She was gathering all her things together for the briefing in ten minutes. Almost everyone else was already there, but not him. They had discussed that long ago, that when the briefings included both of them, that they could present a united front if they arrived together. So here he was waiting for her. She finally had her things together and came over to meet him. As always that smile of hers that could light up any room came to her face. He hadn\rquote t realized till this moment how much that smile meant to him. He smiled back as they greeted each other.\par \par \tab\ldblquote Good morning Dr. Weir,\rdblquote he said.\par \par \tab\ldblquote Good morning Col. Cauldwell,\rdblquote she replied back.\par
