This is the epilogue series to my Code: LYOKO Light and Shadow series. For a complete list of stories, check out my profile page, they are listed in order. I do not own Code: LYOKO or Gargoyles, however, the characters of Kayla Olson and Eva Maverick-Morales are mine. Please enjoy and review, because I love your reviews.
NOTE: To those who like Alexander Xanatos fan fictions with him grown up, keep reading.
It didn't take a genius to see that Aelita was grieving. The others had been trying to cover for it, but the other students began asking questions. It took a verbal lashing from Sissi to get them to stop. This was one of the perks of becoming friends with her.
XANA was gone. And so was Franz Hopper.
Things were quiet now and it caused unrest in the LYOKO warriors. Adjusting to normal life was a pain. But now that things were finished, they could focus on school and family.
Things with William were going well. Eva would tutor him in the morning and afternoon and every chance he got in between he would study with Kayla. William and Kayla were officially an item. Surprisingly, Eva approved of the match.
Eva couldn't sleep that night. This was her night most of the time. She would stay up until two in the morning and sleep for two hours and be up and getting ready for tutoring sessions. She would go down to William's room before everyone else was up for breakfast and help him with his schoolwork.
Eva sat on her bed, her back in the corner, her feet pulled up. Her arm was resting on her raised knee and the other was in her lap. Her insomnia was getting better, but now she was having strange dreams. Eva was back on her regular sleep schedule; sleep when she needed, stay awake for as long as she could. At least with things back to normal, she could try living a normal life.
Jim was making an effort to make Eva as normal a teenager as possible, but given all she had been through, and Jim's lack of experience as a parent, things weren't going off without a hitch. Eva still had trouble with being hyper vigilant, something she knew she was going to have to deal with for a long time. And connecting with others was a challenge outside of her comfort zone. She was good with students, not so good with adults. Jim and the other teachers could understand that, but it was something that had to be corrected.
The others were adjusting. Aelita and Jeremy were focusing on school work and at the height of their grades. Ulrich and Yumi were getting their relationship together and were going to try dating. Odd was doing everything he could to keep his grades out of the toilet. Eva was keeping an eye on Odd's grades and knew he was succeeding in that department, but she kept that to herself. Kayla and William were dating and William's grades were improving as well as his attitude.
Eva smirked at that thought. So this was what being normal was like. She was beginning to like it.
But there were other things other than being in charge of the student tutoring project that Eva needed to turn her attention to. She and Nicolas were still working on the school play. They were going to do A Midsummer Night's Dream. Casting was completed, the sets were in the process of being designed, and rehearsals started next week, right after the open house for new students.
Eva could have groaned out loud at that thought. She wasn't ready to be at an open house, especially when she was expected to take snobby prospective students around. Chances were she would punch one in the mouth or worse. But she was a student teacher, having technically completed all the grade levels at the school. Instead of shipping her off to another school, the school psychologist thought it would be best for Eva to stay put and be given other activities.
"She needs a stable environment. Right now, she has one right where she is. It would be a disaster if we tried upsetting it."
There was no sense in dwelling about it. Hopefully it would come and go with no problems.
Eva lay down on her bed to try to sleep. She chuckled. Like things were going to go off without any problems.
