Ivory Tower
------------------------------------------
Past azure sky,
Beyond mountains' peaks,
There stands an ivory tower,
Of which edict speaks,
-----
In tales of old,
Said to be a majesty to behold,
Yet to those who seek it?
It is merely an end,
To both flesh and the soul,
-----
Spirits clash!
Crimson swords versus azure wings,
A secret untold,
Is what lies ill between,
-----
Their sweat,
And their tears,
Have come,
Now to naught,
-----
Their eyes are now open,
Unbelieving and frightened,
In the face of their shock,
-----
The angel they held,
So close to their hearts,
Had now lost her innocent soul,
Their spark in the dark,
-----
One raises his head,
His eyes hardened in grief,
He turns around swiftly,
And begins to speak,
-----
Onward,
He told with a solemn grace,
Of an idealist who knows,
His dreams are out of place,
-----
They stared at him now,
Amazed at the change,
How unthinking boy,
Could suddenly,
Take a drastic change in pace,
-----
The ivory wrought tower,
And azure at their backs,
Remind them of perils,
Those thus far,
Held back,
-----
An edict holds mentions,
Of a beautiful place,
Where one's soul is tested,
-----
This image,
Now,
And forever,
Replaced.

A/N-This is what happens when one has towers on the mind...This one came out of nowhere when I heard the word "Ivory"...I love ellipses!
