"James Potter!"

A shaggy head of black hair popped out from the small opening in the doors of a shed that was sitting on the far side of the yard. "Yes, Flower?" he asked innocently.

"Don't you Flower me." Lily glared, hands on her hips leaning against the backdoor. "What are you doing? Where have you been all afternoon?" she asked quietly.

His quickly head retreated, the door closing with a bang.

"James!"

A moment later he emerged through the doors, tucking his wand into the back pocket of his jeans.

"Nothing, nowhere," he finally answered, giving her the same charming look that had saved him the wrath of McGonagall many many times at school.

"That look doesn't work with me, Potter." She started towards him, slowly closing the door behind her. "Where is Sirius?" she whispered.

"Wouldn't know," he shrugged, his lips twitching upwards.

"I know he's here. I heard that-that flying machine of death he insists on riding. Honestly, he's going to get himself or you killed one of these days," she said, waving her arms about, while looking back at the house nervously.

James grabbed her around her waist pulling her to him. "It's not a machine of death. I could take you up in it and show you how much fun it really can be… Why are you whispering?" he asked, nuzzling her neck.

"Because at this very moment there are two men from the Ministry standing in the living room. They were asking me if I've seen anything suspicious, and that question usually leads me straight to the two of you."

James froze. "Erm… they aren't Aurors are they?"

"No, they aren't. But someone thinks they saw a flying motorbike and reported it. You know how easily people scare these days... I said I would come ask you if you've seen anything. They are attempting to track down the owner." She raised a questioning eyebrow.

"Huh, I wonder who that could be?" he questioned, not bothering to hide the smile on his face.

Lily rolled her eyes, before pulling a small folded object out of her pocket. "Merlin, you two are going to be the death of me," she sighed, "Make sure it gets hidden just in case. I brought your cloak."

As she turned back to the house James quickly grabbed her wrist, spinning her around to face him. "I love you." He said as he kissed her quickly.

She smiled. "I must love you too, but if I get thrown in Azkaban for covering I'm going to kill the both of you."

"Don't worry, love. We'd find a way to break you out." He grinned and sent her a wink before returning to the small shed.
