Sam Carter sat down on her sofa. She had just got back from her very first mission thought the Stargate. She couldn't believe she had had an argument with her CO before hand. She was sure that he had taken it as a joke but she had been told that Jack O'Neill was very unpredictable.
Apparently his son had just died a couple of years ago and that was the reason he was caught up in the project that they were running beneath NORAD under Cheyenne Mountain. But the thing that troubled her the most way the feeling she had got after seeing him for the first time. Even before she had seen his face, his voice had sent shivers down her spine even though he had thought that she was a man.
After seeing the man she had felt a certain… she didn't know how to describe it. She turned the radio. The song that she heard was one of her favourites but it did remind her of a certain greying colonel that she had been with only a few hours before.
The song was called 'I Won't Say I'm In Love'

The song finished and the man on the radio started talking but Sam wasn't really listening. She was thinking of what the song had said. She now knew what she had felt earlier that day. Attraction. She was attracted to Jack O'Neill, no; she was in love with Jack O'Neill.
The problems were simple. Apart from the fact that he obviously didn't like her anymore than he liked Daniel but even if he did; their professional relationship would make a personal one impossible. Sam switched off the radio and reached for her bag.
From it she took out a creased photo which she had found left in the changing room. She kissed it and placed it back in her purse. Sam knew that, as long as she had her purse with her, she would carry apart of Jack O'Neill with her where ever she went.
And with the thought of her CO still in her mind, Sam Carter drifted off to sleep right there, on her sofa.
