Chapter One
"So I guess this is goodbye?" Miley looked at Nick with sadness in her eyes.
"I guess so." He looked down at his feet after telling her. He felt ashamed about this; he never thought that his dad's job would make him transfer to another city. Even worse, a city that was hours away, hours away from Miley.
They both stood there awkwardly until the final school bell rang. Miley looked back at Nick. Everyone was crowding around Nick, giving him hugs and telling them their goodbyes. Most likely, he didn't even see her, so she left to her locker.
Truth was, she didn't want him to go, like many other people. Miley wasn't the type of girl to show her feelings, and she wished she had expressed herself more, especially Nick. Now they were stuck as friends, nothing more, and she hated that. She hated that he had a girlfriend, a slutty one at that. Who knows how many guys she's slept with.
She finally came upon her locked. She placed her hand on the dial and entered her combination. The small door swung open. She placed her math book on the second shelf. She still couldn't believe that Nick was leaving. How could he do that to her? Though, it wasn't his fault that his dad got a job. She could at least be supportive of him.
She closed her locker to turn around and see Nick tightly hugging his girlfriend, and soon to be his ex. If Miley had told him about her feelings, it would have been her in his arms, but it's too late.
The couple had split and Nick headed for the exit, and Miley followed behind. She sped up trying to catch up to him.
"Nick!" She yelled at him. He kept walking. He pushed open the door, walked up to his parent's car, and got in.
The car drove away. This would be the last time she would see him...ever. So many memories and regrets, and now he's gone. She turned around and went back inside the building as tears formed in her eyes. She never thought this day would come, and now it has, she just wants to be alone and cry.
Nick wasn't like any other guy. He was sweet and caring, told her everything, and always talked to her in eighth period Science. Too bad it was just cutesy small talk.
But those days are over, for the next month and a half, she will be looking across the room at a table of three, not four. She could try to get his number from someone, but that would seem too suspicious. She never understood why she had kept this as a secret, maybe because she was afraid of rejection?
As she continued down the hall, people stared at her passing by. She kept wiping the tears from her eyes. She doesn't even know where's she's going, she just continues walking. Miley found the nearest door and ran outside. She followed the sidewalk's path down the street. She saw the moving van pulling away from the driveway and heading down the street, and Liam's parents' car followed behind. It was over.
A/N: New idea. I should be updating the stories I already have, but oh well. Just a tester chapter to see if anyone likes it, so I can decide to write more or not.
