"Even if we're miles apart" she sang waiting for the moment Troy would come out on stage, and finally sing with her. She stood there frozen when he didn't show "Even if we're miles and miles apart" she sang as suddenly the music picked up and to her surprise that plebian the rocket man, or whatever his name was came out. "He didn't show up" she thought to herself trying not to cry on stage. She decided that this was her moment and she wouldn't let Troy ruin it, so she sang with that freshman trying to hide the heartbroken look on her face as she ran off stage and saw Troy and Gabriella standing there hand in hand about to run out and sing the duet.
Tears started to run down her face as she saw him with her "Great go save the day be the heroes I give up" she said running to her dressing room when she felt a hand stop her "Sharpay wait" Troy said. "I'm going to sing with you" he said wiping a tear away and pulling her out to the stage and he started to sing leaving Gabriella standing there with an angry look on her face. Sharpay couldn't believe it was happening she was singing the song with Troy nothing could stop the huge smile on her face as they did the choreography. As the song ended she looked up at Troy and before she could say anything his lips were on hers just as the curtain went down for the next act. She quickly pulled away stunned "What just happened" she said in a quiet voice "You have a girlfriend" she said looking at Gabriella who was now fuming "Who looks like she's going to kill me" she said. "I don't know I just felt like I needed to kiss you" he said looking down at his shoes.
"I think I want to be with you Shar" he said "I just wanna be with you" he said quoting the song they had just sung together. Sharpay was taken aback. This is what she had wanted since junior year, Troy, for Troy to be hers, but then there was Gabriella, the perfect girl who stole Troy from her. Sharpay knew if she got together with Troy the whole school would assume she was a whore who hurt poor Gabriella. "Troy you know I like you, but I'm not getting involved in all of this" she said motioning to him and Gabriella. "So you figure out what you want and get back to me" she said kissing his cheek before skipping off to her dressing room.
"Troy what the fuck was that!" Gabriella yelled at him angrily, "That was supposed to be our duet, our song and you went and sang it with HER!" she added. "I'm going to get her back for this I don't know how but I'm going to think of something" she said. "Do you even want to be with me Troy?" she asked hoping he would give her the answer she wanted.
