It had finally happened, the legendary wild mage, Veralidaine Sarrasri had lost her temper. No one in the city knew what had happened, but everyone was truly puzzled. Instead of setting animals on the perpetrator, like what she would have normally done when she was upset, she disappeared along with every creature in the city, and because the life force of Corus depended on animals at least indirectly, the citizens were extremely worried.
"Who on Earth would say such things without realizing that we will be left with her fury?!" exclaimed Daine's husband Numair. At the moment the nobles and the friends and family of Veralidaine, were gathered in the council chamber, sitting around a large table in the middle of which sat a crumpled letter criticizing Daine and her animals.
Dear Daine:
You are so worthless you don't even know it! Animals weren't created to be friends with people. Why do you think we are at the top of the food chain? To eat animals and to use them for all their worth, which isn't much. Changing into animals just lowers yourself down to useless. Go away and die, this world would be a better place without bastards like you!
You are loathed by all
Someone Secret
P.S Every animal that comes into my household is killed. Hope that makes you happy!
The nobles stared in silence for a moment. King Jonathan snapped out of it first.
"What reports do we have of animals in the city?" He requested.
"Your majesty, the news is all bad, they refuse to come within a meters distance of the city. If they are forced in the walls they commit suicide."
Alanna stated the thought that was going through all of the present groups heads. "That doesn't sound like our Daine. She would never kill an animal on purpose. Either Daine has changed or she has no idea of what is going on."
That day, spies were sent in every direction on order from the king, in hope that they could find their beloved friend and if possible, bring her home.
