Heyho.

Well, this is my first English FanFiction, I normally write German ones. It takes place during the episode 1x10 when Lorelai finally enters Richard's sickroom.

What would have happened, if they had had more time in the sickroom?

Disclaimer: Gilmore Girls doesn't belong to me, none of the characters are mine.

I hope you'll enjoy this little oneshot. And please rewiev. :) Thanks!

She finally opened the door and entered the room. His eyes were closed and she assumed he was asleep. She slowly walked to the end of the bed and watched him.

After a moment he opened his eyes, a surprised look on his face when he noticed her.

"Hey, Dad." Her voice broke.

Tears started to roll down her face as she stood there and looked at him.

She wanted to say anything else, but she couldn't. The words were stuck in her throat.

Richard seemed to try to say something, too, but he couldn't either.

Wiping the tears away Lorelai slowly walked upt to the side of the bed and sat down on the edge.

"You really shocked us all today."

"I didn't mean to."

"No...no, I know that...it's just..." Another wave of tears flooded her eyes.

"I thought I'd lose you.", she managed to get out before her voice broke again.

Richard looked at his daughter who was crying about him and one lonely tear rolled down his cheek.

He reached for her hand it took it into his.

"My time has not come yet.", he said softly.

Then it was quiet for a while.

"I...I was at Luke's Diner when Mom called me.", Lorelai began.

"I didn't answer the phone because I was arguing with Luke about...well, about answering a cell phone in the diner." She chuckled a little.

"So...I listened to the mailbox and...I was completely...not myself and the only thought that crossed my mind was how to get here.

Luke gave me a ride. He kicked all the people out of the diner just to drive me here."

"Well, he cares for you."

Lorelai smiled.

"Yes, he does."

"Then in the car I told him about our relationship...or about the one we didn't have. I told him about the dad that buys his daughter a barbie or the dad that goes fishing or to the circus with his daughter...so...about the dad I never had. And well, ...then he said he was sure you loved me. I hope he was right."

She looked up at him.

"He is right." Richard squeezed her hand a little and she felt again tears coming up.

Lorelai leaned in to hug him. She couldn't remember the last time they hugged, but it felt good now.

"I love you, Dad.", she whispered.

"I love you, too, Lorelai."

And this was the beginning of a relationship. A relationship between father and daughter.
