She wasn't really sure when it had started. Maybe it was back in Hong Kong where she would go exploring hidden places in the city and bring home small 'treasures' she had found there. Maybe it had been when she had started fighting the Dark Hand and would occasionally pocket a small memento of her adventures (a smile tugged on her lips as she remembered trying on one of Chow's sunglasses that she had once found only for the smile to disappear as her train of thought continued). As time went by, however, 'occasionally' turned to 'often' and later to 'if possible' while 'small' turned to 'expensive' (or 'magical', if at all possible without Uncle noticing, which wasn't very often). The sound of a familiar shouting snapped Jade back to reality. Snapping the lid back on the oriental jewellery box (a birthday gift from Uncle and Jackie) before locking it and placing it back on the shelf the raven-haired girl quickly forgot her earlier self reflection as the sound and smell of dinner reached her while she walked downstairs.
