Crownless

She needs no domain
No title, no throne
No damsel in distress to save
No prince to rescue her
No banners, titles, or crowns
Just to be in her realm
The gilded courts call out to her
Confining her to that realm
A lord or lady is what they would call her
She no longer wishes to be called
She would be simply just be
One foot would be in front of the other
Time becoming a simple illusion
Being too quick, or too slow
Forgetting everything or remembering all
Being lost in the cacophony of life
Staying stagnant forever in death
Nor that she would be lost
She is there for her own existence
Trying to find it, somehow
One moment having a wondrous dream
Sleep being a cousin of death
"To die would be a grand adventure"
As one story had spoken to her
A heartbeat will slow down
Erasing all of her existence
And yet
She lives on, in everyone's hearts
She will never be forgotten
As her purpose was there all along
There is no need for a domain for her
Oh no, for a prince such as herself
She doesn't need anything that defines her
The voices of the loved ones carry her through
Help her understand, make her feel
Feel another side of life
Her heart softened and finally free
There is no domain for her
Nor does she want one
Daylight arrives
Night has ended
She would be forever crownless
There will be no need for one
She will be the one to awaken
