Atopos - Hope everyone is having a good summer (I personally hate the season). I haven't written much in a long time because of family visits, sleeping, and doctor appointments. I wrote this a long time ago, and never thought it good enough to add. I'm not one for YusukexKurama yaoi, but I think this is something that could possibly happen without anyone thinking it's yaoi at all. Hope you enjoy even though it's not that funny. R&R and remember that I own nothing.
Perspective
Yusuke straddled the back of the kitchen chair, waiting, patient for a change. He seemed very thoughtful, but really he was bored beyond belief. Watching Kurama do the dishes didn't seem like much fun, yet there wasn't much else to do.
The redhead hummed softly as he scrubbed the dishes from their previous meal. His hands were wrinkled from the water, and he worked on, making up his own tune. He had a bright smile in place as if doing common work was a pleasure for him, and, with his red hair tied back to keep it from getting wet and an apron on to keep his school uniform clean, he looked almost like a young school girl…even though Yusuke would never admit it.
Yusuke thought that the scene probably only looked a little out of place for him since he never had the chance to see Kurama doing such work. He knew Kurama always did little chores for his mother and whenever someone made a mess, but this was different. This time he was able to see it with his own eyes. It was…sweet.
As if being able to read his mind, Kurama glanced over his shoulder as if to see if Yusuke was still watching him. He smiled nervously, then went back to the plates before him.
"Something the matter, Yusuke?" Kurama asked calmly, "You don't have to stay if you don't want to. You can watch the television instead. I'll only be awhile longer."
Yusuke shook his head determinedly, his eyes remaining on his friend. Kurama was – as everyone knew – a strong fighter. His name was famous in Demon World for all the crimes he had committed. Even Hiei was smart enough to avoid fighting with him. It seemed as thought no one wanted anything to do with Kurama when it came to conflicts if they were against him.
Finally, Yusuke stood up from his chair with a decision in mind. Kurama might not like it, but it had to be said. Or at least Yusuke thought so.
Kurama turned around when he felt someone lean over his shoulder. "Can I help you, Yusuke?"
Yusuke sighed, "You're not so tough."
Kurama merely blinked. He reached up to fix a few strands of his hair and wondered what could have brought that on.
